Music News: Full album release schedule for April 2025

In April, there’s an abundance of fresh album releases on the first Friday, which promises several potential hits. However, the number of releases diminishes significantly for the remainder of the month. Interestingly, the most promising new album could be dropping towards the end.

Without a doubt, there’s something for every music lover. If you’re into Afrobeat, which I highly recommend, one of the top artists in that genre is set to release a new album. If shoegaze is more your style, a band with a new name will be dropping one of those records as well.

This month, we’re lacking the excitement for a fresh album from Taylor Swift. Her album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released back in April last year. Consequently, artists who release music in April this year will have a greater opportunity to shine and make an impact.

Full album release schedule for April 2025

  • Black Country, New Road – Forever Howlong
  • Craig Finn – Always Been
  • Dirty Projectors, David Longstreth & s t a r g a z e – Song Of The Earth

  • Sarah Mary Chadwick – Take Me Out To A Bar / What Am I, Gatsby?
  • Sleigh Bells – Bunky Becky Birthday Boy

This could be the most exceptional week for distinctive band names and album titles! Sleigh Bells, a versatile duo, delves deep into alliteration. Meanwhile, the album of this week (and possibly the entire month) comes from Elton John and Brandi Carlile. There’s no doubt in my mind that it will be great.

April 11

  • Bon Iver – SABLE, fABLE
  • Mamalarky – Hex Key
  • Nell Smith – Anxious
  • OK Go – And The Adjacent Possible
  • Röyksopp – True Electric

Bon Iver consistently delivers masterpieces, leaving one to wish that OK Go would attempt to recreate the video style from their hit song “Here It Goes Again”. That video was incredibly entertaining and worth reproducing.

April 18

  • Beirut – Study Of Losses
  • CHIME OBLIVION – CHIME OBLIVION
  • Divide and Dissolve – Insatiable
  • Julien Baker & TORRES – Send A Prayer My Way
  • Superheaven – Superheaven
  • Tunde Adebimpe – Thee Black Boltz

CHIME OBLIVION has a touch of Bow Wow Wow involved. That will make sense when you hear the record.

April 25

  • BIG|BRAVE – OST
  • Deerhoof – Noble And Godlike In Ruin
  • Femi Kuti – Journey Through Life
  • Ghost – Skeletá
  • Jensen McRae – I Don’t Know How But They Found Me!

  • Sumac and Moor Mother – The Film
  • Sunflower Bean – Mortal Primetime
  • The Moonlandingz – No Rocket Required
  • Viagra Boys – viagr aboys
  • William Tyler – Time Indefinite

Kuti boasts an extensive collection of music. If you’re unfamiliar with the renowned Afrobeat artist, it’s time to give him a listen. However, it seems that Ghost might release the top album this month. Tobias Forge never disappoints us, and there’s a new Papa on the way!
