As a hardcore gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’m thrilled to hear that Hasraf “HaZ” Dulull, the talented director behind films like “The Beyond” and “Origin Unknown,” is bringing his unique vision to the animated feature based on “Mutant: Year Zero Road to Eden.” The post-apocalyptic world of this tactical adventure game has always intrigued me with its unlikely team of animal-mutants, led by a witty duck and a gruff boar.
Hasraf “HaZ” Dulull, the director of “The Beyond,” will produce and oversee the creation of an animated movie based on “Mutant: Year Zero Road to Eden.” This is a popular tactical adventure video game.
In the aftermath of a catastrophic event, The Mutant: Year Zero film presents a world populated by anthropomorphic animals. At the helm of this motley crew is a sharp-witted duck and a grouchy boar. Their objective: recover a vital generator that was stolen from their safe haven, the Ark. As they scour the perilous landscape, these resourceful creatures stumble upon a hidden truth concerning the Ark’s factions. They then face off against the oppressive rule of the Elder and unearth secrets with the potential to drastically alter their bleak reality.
Dolph Lundgren and Ian McElhinney have been announced as new additions to the voice acting team for an upcoming animated film. Dulull, who previously worked as a visual effects supervisor on productions like “The Dark Knight” and “Hellboy 2,” has transitioned into directing in recent years. Some of his directorial projects include “Origin Unknown,” featuring Katee Sackhoff, his debut film “The Beyond,” and most recently the animated action sci-fi movie “Max Beyond.”
Dulull’s upcoming project, as viewed by Heroic Signatures, marks the debut of an animated feature within the “Mutant: Year Zero” series. With Unreal Engine 5 as his tool, the director plans to transform the “Mutant: Year Zero Road to Eden” game into a cinematic extravaganza.
Fred Malmberg, Heroic Signatures’ president, and Mark Wheeler, a founding partner at Pathfinder, will also be involved in producing the film adaptation of “The Mutant: Year Zero” game.
“Malmberg expressed excitement in a statement, sharing that Heroic is eager to unveil the developments behind bringing “Mutant: Year Zero” to life as an animated movie. The team at Heroic strives to innovate and offer new adventures for fans and newcomers alike, based on our beloved characters and stories through various media.”
HaZimation and Northern Ireland Screen have created this project, with Paula Crickard serving as producer and Edward White contributing as music composer. Heroic Signatures, famous for their distinctive intellectual properties like “Conan the Barbarian,” will attend San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend for a discussion on comics.
