As a seasoned horror enthusiast and frequent attendee of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, I can confidently say that this year’s A Quiet Place haunted house has left an indelible mark on my terrified yet exhilarated heart. The immersive experience of living in the post-apocalyptic world of the first two movies was a chilling reminder of why I love horror so much.
Each Halloween, TopMob visits every haunted house announced for Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, be it in Orlando or Hollywood, to aid you in planning your night out. With a house dedicated to the A Quiet Place franchise now part of the festivities, this horror enthusiast has been eagerly awaiting how the concept would be brought to life as an attraction. After braving an intense encounter with the Death Angels, I can’t help but share my experience and the thoughts it provoked within me.
I Need To Talk About My Experience At Universal HHN’s A Quiet Place Haunted House
Last week, I evaluated every 2024 Halloween Horror Nights house at Universal Studios Hollywood on opening night. However, there’s a similar haunted house in Orlando as well, although it might have some differences from the one I visited. It was one of the top experiences for me that evening, mainly because it did an exceptional job of pulling me into the world depicted in the first two movies.
Indeed, it’s unusual to find everyone completely still during this attraction at the amusement park. The experience begins with Regan giving you a warning to stay quiet using sign language as you navigate through a dimly lit forest. Many actors dressed like humans are scattered throughout, their faces expressing terror in the face of the impending threat from the Death Angels. For instance, an older man could be seen screaming before being “taken down” by one of them.
As I strolled through the residence, I experienced a strange sense of fear, yet managed to keep my composure alongside others. It’s fascinating how survival mechanisms such as adaptability take over, even when no genuine danger was present. Despite this, as I ventured further into the house, an assortment of Death Angel animatronics emerged from every direction, leaving me in awe at their craftsmanship. The house itself maintained a hushed atmosphere, with sounds similar to those on a radio or the anticipation of pregnancy by Evelyn heightening the suspense.
Now, Give Me An Alien Haunted House ASAP
After experiencing life in a world similar to that depicted in the movie ‘A Quiet Place’, I found myself yearning to explore another terrifying alien-themed horror film, where navigating a haunted house would be an exhilarating yet chilling experience: ‘Alien’. This craving is intensified as ‘Alien: Romulus’ is slated for release in 2024, promising animatronics of eerie extraterrestrials reminiscent of the Death Angels.
Having witnessed the remarkable design of this house, I can’t help but envision Universal Studios converting one of their attractions into a spaceship, creating an immersive experience akin to being in an Alien film. With Xenomorph jump scares abound, it would be an unforgettable, heart-pounding adventure! What a thrill that would be!
Why Alien At A Theme Park Isn’t As Far-Fetched As You Might Think
It seems like you might be doubting whether “Alien” could be included in Halloween Horror Nights given that it’s now under Disney’s ownership. However, let me share some points to consider. In the past, many attractions featured during Universal’s Horror Nights or throughout the theme park itself aren’t strictly Universal Studios properties. For instance, take a look at The Simpsons Ride (and the surrounding area). That area is technically owned by Disney, yet it holds a significant place within the theme park.
Moreover, the movie “A Quiet Place” is owned by Paramount Pictures. Similarly, this year’s other films such as “Ghostbusters: Rise of the Frozen Empire” and “Insidious”, which are produced by Sony Pictures, were not Universal productions either. The world of Harry Potter, too, falls under Warner Bros. jurisdiction. Interestingly, Halloween Horror Nights has previously showcased “Alien” in a 2014 Orlando house dedicated to “Alien vs. Predator”. Indeed, it’s true.
Reflecting on this year marking the 45th anniversary of the film “Alien”, it would have been fantastic if Horror Nights incorporated Xenomorphs. However, better late than never! Following the success of “A Quiet Place” in demonstrating that mechanical aliens could send shivers down my spine within an immersive haunted house setting, I believe it’s high time for another terrifying alien-horror franchise to step up and take its turn.
