As a lifelong Nas fan who has witnessed the evolution of East Coast hip-hop, I can honestly say that this upcoming event is nothing short of a dream come true. Growing up with “Illmatic” as a staple in my music collection, experiencing Nas’s music blended with the elegance of classical music performed by the Las Vegas Philharmonic is an experience I never thought I’d have the pleasure of witnessing.
During the Labor Day weekend, Nas celebrated the 30-year milestone of his first studio album, “Illmatic,” by holding a residency at Wynn Las Vegas. There, he shared the stage with the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
The hip-hop artist has revealed plans to prolong his engagement, coming back to Las Vegas in February for an additional three performances that fuse rap and classical tunes.
On the 31st of August, Nas hinted at his comeback on stage: “I’m finding myself enjoying this Las Vegas experience. I might prolong it.
Nas’ Illmatic was released in April 1994 and became a defining album in East Coast hip-hop.
The performances are scheduled at the Encore Theater of Wynn, happening on February 5th, 7th, and 8th. The general public can purchase tickets starting this coming Friday, September 13th.
