Nawazuddin Siddiqui feels proud as his daughter Shora performs at Majesty Theatre’s play Beauty and the Beast

As a devoted admirer of the enigmatic Nawazuddin Siddiqui, I find myself captivated by his heartwarming journey as a father and an artist. His recent social media post, showcasing his daughter Shora’s electrifying performance in “Beauty and the Beast” musical play, is nothing short of inspiring.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his diverse acting roles, is currently delighted and proud because his daughter Shora has shown an increasing interest in acting. He’s often spoken about her passion, and now that she performed in a Beauty and the Beast musical play, his joy knows no bounds. On social media, he posted a picture along with a touching message expressing his gratitude for her talent.

Nawazuddin posted a photo of his daughter Shora on social media after her theater performance. Overflowing with pride and happiness, he titled the image, “Shora following her performance in ‘the beauty and the beast’ musical at London’s West End Stage, His Majesty’s Theatre.”

In a past conversation with Film Companion, Nawaz shared that his child is presently receiving instruction. He detailed how she proactively joined the drama department and humbly asked her instructor for acting lessons, demonstrating her eagerness by placing her hands together in prayer-like fashion.

Additionally, he provided insights into Shora’s curriculum, highlighting that during her last year, students are tasked with putting on a play. This includes designing their own costumes, handling woodwork, creating props, managing lighting, and overseeing all aspects of the production. They will even sell tickets for the final performance. It’s important to note that Shora is independently undergoing this rigorous training process.

He mentioned that although he has never encouraged her to pursue acting, he fully supports her passion. He noted that seeing her dedication, he and his wife simply tell her to go ahead with it, much like other parents would.

Irrfan Khan, who starred in The Lunchbox, confessed he wasn’t aware for quite some time that she had joined the Performing Arts department and is now attending different workshops, such as a summer workshop. Shora discovers these chances herself, shares her enthusiasm with her parents, and asks them to pay the associated fees.

When inquired about whether he’s been tutoring his daughter acting or if she seeks his assistance, Siddiqui likened it to the saying “his own chicken pecks the rice.” Essentially, this implies that she is self-taught. At 14 years old, she watches a film daily and consumes a variety of films, including world cinema. Once, she presented a piece for him, which she had thoroughly prepared by watching numerous movies. Recognizing her passion as the driving force behind her efforts, Siddiqui feels that he doesn’t have much to contribute in terms of additional guidance.
