NBC Sports has named Maria Taylor the lead studio host for its forthcoming NBA coverage.
Starting later this year, NBA rights return to NBC Sports. On Sundays and Tuesdays, Taylor will be the host for NBC’s studio programs, accompanied by analysts Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter. Additionally, she will take charge of certain WNBA games from 2026 onwards.
It was anticipated that the decision would be made, given that Taylor had already taken on roles like hosting “Football Night in America” for NBC and providing input for NBC’s Olympic coverage. Since joining NBC Sports in 2021, Taylor has been making a name for themselves as an up-and-coming talent within the network.
At ESPN, Taylor was the host of NBA Countdown.
Taylor expressed great gratitude for being a part of the distinguished history at NBC Sports, focusing on the NBA, and for getting back to the sport that initially sparked his passion, women’s basketball. Knowing he will spend the next five years with his NBC family, narrating tales from events like the Super Bowl, Olympics, NBA Playoffs, and WNBA Finals, is not just a dream fulfilled; it’s a complete circle moment.
Maria, who is the presenter of Football Night in America and our top-tier programs, has demonstrated an exceptional talent for helping her colleagues improve,” remarked Sam Flood, NBC Sports’ Executive Producer. “I can’t wait to witness her transfer that same leadership and enthusiasm to this fresh team featuring Carmelo and Vince, as they work together to prepare for weekly primetime NBA basketball and the WNBA, starting next year.
