April Fool’s Day can be both amusing and slightly nerve-wracking, filled with jokes and pranks that sometimes straddle the line between outrageous and unbelievably plausible. Brands adding to the fun make it even more enjoyable. This year, TV series NCIS, currently in its 22nd season on the 2025 schedule, joined the bandwagon by joking about a new spinoff. Even some of the stars supported this idea, and so did popular CBS show Young Sheldon.
The official NCIS franchise Instagram account combined the drama with the Big Bang Theory prequel by sharing a poster for Young NCIS, complete with adorable kids who kind of resemble the current NCIS cast. Honestly, even though it’s a joke, I would definitely watch this:

Many commenters expressed admiration for the idea and couldn’t resist expressing that they, too, would be interested in watching it. Some stars from NCIS also voiced their opinions on the matter, with Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, and Diona Reasonover all giving their endorsements.
- I 100% believed. -Katrina Law
- Omg -Diona Reasonover
- This one is gonna be special. -Brian Dietzen
A captivating concept for a show would undoubtedly be “Young NCIS”, where we could enjoy watching either younger versions of our beloved characters or observe the interactions between these adults and children. It’s an enticing idea that promises both nostalgia and fresh perspectives on familiar faces!
Currently, not just the cast of NCIS and myself are yearning for this event, but Young Sheldon also shares our excitement. As evidence, their official Instagram account has engaged in a conversation with NCISVerse about it.
- Young Sheldon: Are you casting? 👀 -Young Sheldon
- NCISVerse: I’ll have my people talk to your people 🙏
Well, I think we’ll all have to keep dreaming about this one.
On the contrary, it’s refreshing to find a series as intense and dramatic as NCIS, displaying such a light-hearted side. The show can be downright funny at times, and it’s equally enjoyable watching its social media antics that involve other well-loved CBS shows.
That being said, to celebrate the April Fool’s holiday as well, NCIS shared a BTS video of Sean Murray, Katrina Law, and Wilmer Valderrama talking about pranks, and Law might want to watch her back:

Discussing how the latest NCIS episode unveiled a significant truth about Parker’s mom (available for viewing with a Paramount+ subscription), it’s enjoyable watching the cast enjoying themselves. Yet, I can’t help but spot the marks on David McCallum and Wilmer Valderrama’s faces, indicating that the remaining episodes of Season 22 will be gripping and intense.

Paramount Plus: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a year
To catch CBS’s shows like NCIS, consider subscribing to Paramount+ at a monthly cost of $7.99. If you prefer an ad-free experience with additional access to Showtime, opt for the premium plan priced at $12.99 per month. Check out the offer here!
It appears they’re enjoying themselves backstage, but their constant chat about jokes and tricks has me wishing for an entire episode dedicated to the team playing tricks on one another, reminiscent of the old days of NCIS.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but wonder: With another season of NCIS just around the corner, who knows what twists and turns might be in store? Might we even see a spinoff like Young NCIS? Now that would be quite a spectacle, given how the NCIS universe keeps on growing. After all, anything can happen in this franchise, and I’m sure the playful banter and teasing will continue whether it’s on-screen or off!
