As a lifestyle expert with a soft spot for classic Bollywood movies, I find myself reminiscing about the timeless masterpiece that is Hum Saath-Saath Hain. The film, with its stellar cast and heartwarming portrayal of family values, has left an indelible mark on my heart and the hearts of millions of viewers.

As a lifestyle expert, let me share a fun fact about one of my all-time favorite Hindi films: Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Saath-Saath Hain. This timeless cinematic gem continues to resonate with audiences even today, thanks to its stellar ensemble cast including Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Bahl, Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, and Tabu. The film, which beautifully showcased the importance of family values in Indian households, is still remembered fondly for its iconic scenes and evergreen songs. Did you know that Neelam Kothari was playfully ragged by her co-stars Salman, Saif, and Tabu during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain? Now, isn’t it fascinating to learn about the behind-the-scenes camaraderie that made this classic movie even more special?

During a recent conversation on Radio Nasha, actor Mahesh Thakur, who portrayed Neelam Kothari’s on-screen spouse in Hum Saath-Saath Hain, shared an anecdote from the set. Mahesh reminisced about filming the ABCD song from the 1999 movie, stating that he found the dance moves challenging at the time.

In my account, I mentioned that I was jiving along with the rhythm, yet the bus itself seemed to be shaking on the uneven road. Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment, I stumbled during our dance routine and accidentally collided with Neelam. Later, I admitted she appeared a tad annoyed by the mishap.

During filming, Salman Khan and his fellow actors Saif Ali Khan and Tabu playfully teased Neelam Kothari. They joked, “If he falls for you, he won’t fall for you like this.” Their humor made the atmosphere more relaxed. Neelam didn’t bear any grudge; it was just a spontaneous response, Salman explained later on.

Mahesh pointed out that the event served as a bonding experience for the actors, leading to them becoming more friendly with one another. He emphasized that there was a strong sense of teamwork and friendship among the cast members during filming.

Besides Neelam and Mahesh, the cast for ABCD included Salman, Saif, Mohnish, Sonali, and Tabu. Karisma played a role in a dream sequence within the storyline. The song was sung by Udit Narayan, Hariharan, Hema Sardesai, and Shankar Mahadevan. In the movie, Neelam portrayed the on-screen sibling of Salman, Saif, and Mohnish.

In terms of her professional life, Neelam Kothari has recently appeared in the third installment of Karan Johar’s series, titled Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. On this show, Neelam takes on a leading role alongside Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, and Bhavana Pandey. The latest season also includes Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shalini Passi, and Kalyani Saha Chawla in its cast.
