Today, as I reflect on this somber anniversary, I can’t help but reminisce about him just as his beloved wife, Neetu Kapoor, did by sharing a radiant picture of them both on social media. His spirit continues to shine brightly in our hearts.
On Instagram Stories, Neetu Kapoor posted an endearing and genuine old photograph of Rishi Kapoor, capturing him gracefully smiling as he raised a glass, emanating his characteristic charm and warmth.
The picture evokes feelings of nostalgia, serving as a poignant reminder for those recalling him. As she posted the image, she expressed her longing with the words “Miss you kapoor sahab,” accompanied by a floral emoji.
In 1980, Neetu exchanged wedding vows with Rishi Kapoor, bringing joy to the whole Bollywood community. After courting each other for some time, they decided to marry and worked together on numerous memorable movies.
Previously, during an interview with Rediff.com, the actress from Jugjugg Jeeyo shared a heartwarming story about her engagement period. While filming a stage song for Yaarana alongside Amitabh Bachchan, she admitted to crying because she was longing for Rishi Kapoor. Due to phone issues in Calcutta, Rishi couldn’t contact her. Moved by her distress, Mr. Bachchan contacted the producer and arranged for Neetu’s return to Bombay, promising they could handle the song without her.
Neetu Kapoor said, “You will notice I am there for half the song, and then I disappear.”
During his distinguished career, Rishi Kapoor appeared in numerous successful films. Starting with Bobby in 1973 alongside Simple Kapadia, he later starred in movies such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Sargam, Naseeb, Prem Rog, Chandni, Henna, Deewana, Namastey London, Love Aaj Kal, and many others.
