Netflix Grabs Silicon Valley Thriller Starring Rosamund Pike

As a tech-savvy enthusiast who’s spent countless hours navigating the digital realm, I’m thrilled about Netflix’s upcoming series, Thumblite! With my background in understanding the intricacies of Silicon Valley‘s power dynamics, I can’t wait to see how this corporate thriller unfolds. The involvement of Scott Z. Burns, whose writing credits include some of the most thought-provoking films about technology and power, is a testament to the series’ potential.

Netflix will explore Silicon Valley in its next drama series.

The streamer emerged victorious in a competitive auction by commissioning the series Thumblite directly for broadcast, which is based in the heart of tech hubs. This series is being developed by Media Res, producers behind The Morning Show and Pachinko, as well as Scott Z. Burns (The Report, Apple TV+’s Extrapolations). Scott Galloway, a marketing professor at NYU and podcaster, serves as an executive producer. Rosamund Pike, known for roles in The Wheel of Time, Saltburn, will star and also serve as an executive producer.

Netflix presents “Thumblite” as a corporate drama unfolding within Silicon Valley, focusing on the intricate machinations, conflicts, aspirations, and compulsions of influential figures and their subordinates as they battle for dominance in an industry that holds immense global influence. As of now, specifics regarding Pike’s involvement in the show are being kept under wraps.

One of several TV series set in Silicon Valley is currently in production, and CBS is concurrently working on a legal drama titled “Cupertino.” This drama is being developed by the creators of “Evil” and “The Good Fight,” namely Robert and Michelle King.

Burns will serve as showrunner on the series. His writing credits also include feature films The Informant!, Contagion and The Laundromat, and he directed episodes of Showtime’s The Loudest Voice and Californication in addition to Extrapolations, Apple’s anthology about climate change.

Galloway is making his debut in a scripted series, having previously been known for co-hosting the Pivot podcast alongside tech journalist Kara Swisher and authoring a book on tech titans such as Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google.

As a gamer, I’m involved in the creation of this game under the guidance of Burns, Galloway, and Pike as executive producers, along with Greg Jacobs, Michael Ellenberg, and Lindsey Springer from Media Res. We’re working together to bring this exciting gaming experience to life!

Pike is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), United Agents in the UK, Magnolia Entertainment, and Prosper PR. On the other hand, Burns is associated with United Talent Agency (UTA) and Jackoway Tyerman.
