Love is Blind is learning to speak Italian.
Netflix has approved the production of “Love is Blind: Italy“, the newest adaptation of its popular dating series in local languages. The program focuses on a group of singles searching for love who get engaged without ever meeting their potential spouses face-to-face. It’s only on the eve of their wedding day that they are allowed to reconsider their decision.
Love is Blind, initially produced by Kinetic Content under The North Road Company for Netflix U.S., debuted in 2020 and has since completed 7 seasons. Versions tailored to local audiences have been commissioned in countries such as the UK, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Brazil, Sweden, and Argentina. The British adaptation aired in August, while the Swedish remake premiered in January and was swiftly renewed for another season.
The Italian adaptation of the series is being produced by Banijay Italia, with auditions for the initial season already underway.
As streaming platforms like Netflix aim to reduce expenses while maintaining a substantial viewership in various regions, unscripted shows such as Reality TV are playing an increasingly significant role in their global programming strategy.
