As a dedicated fan of the gaming industry and a follower of Netflix’s innovative moves, I am beyond excited about the recent hire of Alain Tascan as president of Netflix Games! With over 30 years of experience under his belt, Tascan brings an impressive background in video game development, production, licensing, and studio building.
Netflix is persisting in expanding its horizons into the gaming industry by recruiting Alain Tascan as the head of their new Netflix Games department.
“Netflix’s co-CEO, Greg Peters, announced that Alain brings more than three decades of expertise in international video game creation, manufacturing, licensing, and establishing studios to our team. He is known for his enthusiasm towards producing excellent games and a history of taking daring creative risks. We’re delighted to welcome him as the head of Netflix Games.”
In the constantly changing world of entertainment, Netflix consistently stands out with its groundbreaking approaches and captivating content for global audiences, as mentioned by Tascan. I’m excited and humbled to contribute to this impressive work started by the skilled games team here. In my opinion, Netflix has a distinctive advantage in shaping the future of gaming.
Tascan recently held the position of Executive Vice President for game development at Epic Games, which is known for producing the popular title “Fortnite.” During his tenure at Epic, he managed the creation of “Fortnite,” “Lego Fortnite,” “Rocket League,” and “Fall Guys.” Prior to Epic, Tascan established Montreal-based studios for both Electronic Arts (EA) and Ubisoft, making the Canadian city a significant player in the video game industry.
He succeeds Mike Verdu, who is shifting to a new role at the company in game development.
As a passionate gamer, I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting experiences. And when Netflix announced its entry into the gaming world last year with a focus on free mobile games for subscribers, I couldn’t contain my excitement. They’ve even gone so far as to acquire a few small game studios to help create games in-house. And if the rumors are true, we can look forward to some amazing games based on Netflix’s own intellectual property! In fact, there are whispers of a multiplayer version of “Squid Game” being released later this year, perfectly timed with the second season of the beloved series. Can’t wait to see how that turns out!
