Splinter Cell: Deathwatch” is a cartoon version of the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series, produced by Ubisoft Film & Television in collaboration with animation studios Sun Creature and Fost. The show is helmed by directors Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage, and boasts John Wick’s Derek Kolstad as the lead writer. In addition to Kolstad, Hélène Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gérard Guillemot from Ubisoft are serving as executive producers for this series.
After the success of the recent miniseries “The Perfect Couple,” Liev Schreiber carries on his collaboration with Netflix. This gripping series focuses on Eve Hewson’s character, Amelia, who is on the brink of marrying into one of Nantucket’s wealthiest families. However, a startling death disrupts the wedding and causes everyone to become a potential suspect.
Splinter Cell Fans React to Liev Schreiber as Sam Fisher
Fans of the Splinter Cell series have been expressing their excitement on social media after seeing the initial footage from Splinter Cell: Deathwatch and the casting of Liev Schreiber as Sam Fisher. Many are thrilled with what they’ve seen and heard thus far, with user @OurMovieGuide commenting, “Liev Schreiber is an ideal voice actor for this role.” Another fan, @JokinPhilosophy, shared, “I didn’t know they were making this, but I’m excited! Sam Fisher is back. I’m really looking forward to it, and Liev Schreiber voicing him? I just know it’s going to be great!
Some people, on the other hand, were anticipating the comeback of Michael Ironside, who provided the voice for the character in the initial games. “A missed opportunity not to have Michael Ironside voice Sam again,” expressed @UltimoLegend, while @MelonieMac exclaimed, “No Michael Ironside means no Sam Fisher.” In simpler terms, they were disappointed that Michael Ironside wasn’t given another chance to voice the character Sam Fisher.
Starting in 2002, the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game franchise introduced players to Sam Fisher, a stealthy black ops agent who carries out perilous missions while typically staying hidden. Equipped with night vision and thermal goggles, he accomplishes his tasks covertly. The series has garnered much praise from critics and inspired numerous books set in the same universe. Given this first trailer, do you think Netflix will deliver justice to this cherished series?
