Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its first South Korean animated film, Lost in Starlight.
2050 in Seoul serves as the backdrop for the tale Lost in Starlight, where we follow the lives of two distinctive individuals: Nan-Young, an aspiring astronaut with Mars on her mind, and Jay, a music enthusiast dedicated to restoring vintage audio equipment. Their romance unfolds when Nan-Young visits Jay’s shop in search of help fixing a record player belonging to her late mother. As their bond deepens, Nan-Young receives the opportunity to embark on a Mars expedition, leaving the couple grappling with the difficulties of maintaining a relationship that stretches across light years.
This movie showcases renowned South Korean actors. Kim Tae-Ri, famously recognized for her standout role in Park Chan-wook’s 2016 film, “The Handmaiden“, offers a rich portrayal of the determined astronaut. On the other hand, Hong Kyung, who has gained recognition through his work in “Revenant“, provides the voice for the soulful musician. The movie is helmed by Han Ji-Won as director and co-writer, with Kang Hyun-Joo joining as co-writer. The trailer offers glimpses of futuristic versions of notable landmarks like Sewoon Plaza and Jamsu Bridge, imbuing the storyline with a dreamy, nostalgic feel.
