As a dedicated fan of Harlan Coben‘s gripping narratives and nail-biting suspense, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming limited series, “Missing You,” premiering on Netflix on January 1st. Having binge-watched every single one of his adaptations to date, I can confidently say that this British-born detective story promises to be another masterpiece in the Coben oeuvre.
Netflix has officially announced that “Missing You,” their upcoming Harlan Coben thriller starring Rosalind Eleazar, is set to premiere on the streaming service starting January 1st.
The limited series is based on the success of Harlan Coben’s “Fool Me Once,” which was one of the streaming giant’s most-viewed programs when it premiered on New Year’s Day this year, amassing more than 108 million views.
According to Coben’s novel, “Missing You” revolves around Kat Donovan (Eleazar), who is an expert detective in tracking Missing Persons. Over a decade ago, her beloved fiance Josh disappeared mysteriously without any trace, and she hasn’t received any communication from him since then.
Suddenly spotting him on a dating profile, she finds herself once more engulfed by a whirlwind of emotions. The return of Josh triggers a cascade of events that will send her delving back into the enigma surrounding her father’s murder and unearth secrets long hidden in her past.
Alongside Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, and James Nesbitt, Missing You will feature in its cast.
As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that the captivating five-part series I’ve been eagerly waiting for is being brought to life by none other than Quay Street Productions, an affiliate of ITV Studios. Halle Hiraldo (Coben) himself will be taking on the role of executive producer, working through his own production company, Final Twist Productions. This promises a level of quality and dedication that I can’t wait to see unfold!
Following the pattern of previous Harlan Coben adaptations, the storyline for Missing You is being transposed from America to the United Kingdom. Coben, through his production company Final Twist Productions, is taking on the role of executive producer for this project. With Missing You and Run Away, we will see the 9th and 10th Coben stories brought to life on screen, respectively, as part of his ongoing collaboration with the streaming service giant.
