As a long-time aficionado of legal dramas and a devoted reader of Michael Connelly’s works, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming seasons of “The Lincoln Lawyer.” With three captivating seasons under its belt already, it seems that the show’s creators have no intention of slowing down. The tantalizing tease of a fourth season, even before Season 3 has graced our screens, is nothing short of exhilarating!
Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, might find it challenging to be deterred by the Gods of Guilt given the prospect of additional seasons of the popular legal drama on Netflix. Interestingly, even before Season 3’s premiere, showrunners are hinting at a potential fourth season. Dailyn Rodriguez, one of the co-showrunners, remains tight-lipped about the specifics of the storyline for future episodes, but she does suggest that the events will influence “the next book” in the series. Rodriguez shares this tidbit in a recent interview with TV Insider.
For us, it’s a routine to lay the groundwork for the upcoming mystery of the season. This particular case might not directly lead into the next mystery, but it undoubtedly paves the way for the next book.
Ted Humphrey, one of the co-showrunners, added his thoughts on what’s next for “The Lincoln Lawyer” after the much-anticipated new season airs on Netflix this coming Thursday. He shared, “I believe that this season will undeniably propel us into an incredibly exciting and personal Season 4.” This news is sure to delight fans eager to continue their journey within the world of “The Lincoln Lawyer.
For dedicated fans who crave more of Mickey Haller’s unconventional approach to justice, the creators behind the hit series have already thought about possible directions for a potential Seasons 5 and 6, as mentioned by Humphrey. Moreover, Rodriguez openly admits that they have ideas without hesitation:
“We hope to adapt all the books.”
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 & Beyond
There’s lots to look forward to in Season 3 of “The Lincoln Lawyer”. The eagerly anticipated episodes will be adapted from Michael Connelly’s 2013 novel, “The Gods of Guilt”, and popular character Andrea Freeman (played by Yaya DaCosta) is rejoining Mickey Haller’s (Garcia-Rulfo) circle for this season.
If everything works out as intended, there’ll be plenty more plot threads and storylines to explore in upcoming seasons of the Netflix series. In fact, there may even be content that exceeds what’s currently available in the original source material. Co-showrunner Ted Humphrey is thrilled about the potential future developments, expressing his enthusiasm during a recent interview.
Michael Connelly suggests there could be more Lincoln Lawyer books to come beyond those already published. While this isn’t confirmed, if he is indeed writing one, we can’t wait to read it. We’ve got ideas for how to adapt all of the books… If our audience continues to enjoy the show, we will keep producing it.
The Lincoln Lawyer’s anxiously anticipated Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes, which will all drop Thursday, October 17 on Netflix. And even though Maggie (Neve Campbell) is working in San Diego now, fans should still expect to see things heat up between Mickey and Maggie, even with the Julian La Cosse (Devon Graye) murder case looming large on the immediate horizon.
