Neverness to Everness is set to hold its first closed beta test, but only in China

  • Neverness to Everness is set to hold its very first closed beta test
  • Sadly, you won’t be getting your mitts on it unless you’re in mainland China
  • But you can watch from afar, as Hotta Studios’ hot new property heads towards release

As a lifelong gamer with a penchant for open-world RPGs, I must confess my heart skipped a beat upon hearing about Neverness to Everness’s upcoming closed beta test. Alas, it seems the stars have not aligned in my favor this time around, as the testing is limited to mainland China. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to watch from the sidelines, like a forlorn spectator at the world series of video games.

The highly anticipated 3D open-world RPG, Neverness by Hotta Studios, will conduct its initial closed beta test soon. Regrettably, avid 3D RPG enthusiasts outside mainland China won’t have a chance to participate in it, as the beta is scheduled exclusively for that region.

Based on information from Gematsu, they’ve shared some preliminary insights into fresh lore elements for the upcoming release. If you’ve already watched the trailers showcasing Eibon (as shown below), these new developments might not come as a shock. We delve deeper into the story’s slightly humorous undertone and offer glimpses of how the bizarre and ordinary intertwine in Hetherau.

Hotta Studios might be recognized by some for their corporate parent Perfect World, who are also the creators of Tower of Fantasy, a game that garnered significant attention upon its launch. Though Neverness to Everness aligns with the 3D RPG genre, which is gradually moving towards a more urban aesthetic, it possesses distinct characteristics to make an impression.

Never say ever…again

1st option: Instead of speeding recklessly on city streets at midnight, consider satisfying your need for high-speed thrills by purchasing and modifying a range of vehicles within an open-world driving experience! Remember, though, collisions in this virtual world can still cause damage just as they would in reality.

In reality, it’s important to acknowledge that Neverness to Everness might encounter significant rivalry upon its launch. This isn’t just from MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero, which is again leading the way in quality for 3D open-world RPGs on mobile devices, but also from NetEase who have commissioned Naked Rain to develop Ananta (previously known as Project Mugen), another game that enters a similar genre.
