New Balance’s Retro 740 Runner Is Getting a Reissue

As a devoted sneakerhead with a penchant for retro-futuristic designs and a soft spot for New Balance, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming release of the New Balance 740! This iconic model from the early 2000s has always been near and dear to me, embodying the perfect blend of technical prowess and aesthetic appeal that defined the era.

Product Name: New Balance Model 740

New Balance is bringing back an iconic running shoe from their early 2000s collection that might become another popular choice among their Y2K-era runners. The classic 740 model has returned with fresh colors and subtle updates to preserve its original retro-technical design. In a statement, Senior Product Manager David Kent explained, “The updated 740 incorporates some of the same synthetic materials, mesh, and metallic overlays, while introducing new color combinations and trims for a modernized, contemporary look.

Beneath a broad mesh base lie stylish, diagonal-radiating overlays in green and silver, extending from the collar and eyestays. Reflective accents and striped ribbon eyelets add visual appeal to the upper sections. The midsole, featuring the brand’s performance ABZORB technology, harmonizes with the upper color scheme through dark green outsoles. This design caters to the nostalgia for vintage running shoes, but the brand emphasizes the comfort that has made them favorites among runners.

As a die-hard sneaker enthusiast, I’m all hyped up about the fresh update New Balance has given to their iconic 740 model, teaming up with rapper Aminé! The buzz is real, and it’s centered around the vibrant Blue/Orange BTEE740 model that’s slated to drop on November 1st. Can’t wait for this one to hit the shelves!

On October 16, you’ll find the fresh release of the New Balance 740 up for grabs directly from their online store. By October 20, some official retailers will also carry this model.
