30-year-old actor takes on his debut as the spokesperson for a fragrance brand in an advertising campaign led by Jonathan Alric, one-half of the creative duo The Blaze along with his cousin Guillaume Alric. This advertisement, set to release on January 6th, features Galitzine grooving to the rhythm of British electronic group Underworld’s “Born Slippy,” a song popularized in Danny Boyle’s groundbreaking film, Trainspotting. I jokingly admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that it had been a while since I last visited a club, but this place seemed to have created an accessible, cost-effective version of the nightlife I’ve known in my life. For one day, I found myself enjoying the atmosphere, but upon returning to London and considering my plans, I decided against revisiting The Box – not on my list! Honestly, I’m at a loss as to how to remove that item. I’ve given it several attempts, but I just can’t seem to figure it out. Frankly, I haven’t interacted with that YouTube channel for quite some time now.

Indeed, my very first film role was portraying a young musician. It might not be obvious at first glance, but she’s quite strong. I had the chance to train with her in L.A., and then she visited for a brief period for a fitting, and she’s like a fitness powerhouse, it seems she has an impressive core strength.

It’s quite an unusual feeling, really, collaborating with individuals whom I’ve long admired, only to have them compliment me. Sometimes it makes me laugh and kick my feet in disbelief. It feels strange because I find myself constantly questioning if this is all a dream, especially considering I’ve worked alongside three or four Oscar winners for some time now. I’m still waiting for others to realize that I’m not as brilliant as they might think. For the moment, though, I’m just trying to soak up every bit of these incredible experiences.

After over a decade now, it’s fantastic to have you in our Actor’s Roundtable. Clearly, your presence in these creative environments indicates that you are indeed on the right track.

Indeed, I’m grateful for the opportunity. The truth is, I’ve got a fantastic group of individuals who consistently pursue inclusion of my work in various publications. Persistence seems to be the key word here as they don’t give up easily. This has been a significant milestone for me. I make sure to seize every moment and learn from these experiences, picking their brains along the way, which has proven incredibly enriching.

As a gamer, have I been catching up on the classic He-Man cartoons lately? I’ve got to say, how does the nostalgia of those cartoons stack up against the movie version?

We’ve certainly got our own take on things, and it varies significantly from the original animation, which was undeniably campy for its time but was incredibly effective. Over the years, there have been adaptations such as the “Revelation” version of “Master of the Universe” and the comics themselves. For us, our script is like a sacred text. It’s fascinating to learn about the impact this series had on so many people. It was a formative experience for many, and now we’re creating something that will evoke nostalgia in old fans while also attracting new ones.

Given how hectic your year was in 2024, do you have any personal goals or plans for 2025 that you’d like to focus on?

I’m simply going on with grabbing every opportunity as it comes. I’ve touched upon this before, but the excitement I’m experiencing now is unlike anything I felt in my first decade of working in this profession. The liberty to move between big-budget films and independent projects is a new sensation for me. The film I recently completed was titled “100 Nights of Hero“, starring Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe, and it was incredibly rewarding in its unique way. Therefore, I believe that the coming year will primarily focus on director-led projects, aside from, of course, the challenge of wrapping up the mammoth project of “Masters of the Universe“.

I’m creating a lot of original content, which has been thrilling due to the independence it offers me. Now that I have control over what I produce, I’m challenging myself even more and encouraging those I collaborate with. It’s fantastic that I can work with Amazon on such a grand scale, but I also aim to propose innovative ideas to them that they might not have thought of before, and leave my unique signature on the industry and my career.

I’m anticipating that next year will bring the changes nature intended, as there seems to be a significant void due to the strike, meaning my content won’t be released for some time. This seems to suggest a year primarily focused on effort and novel experiences, which I find quite exhilarating.

The movie you mentioned earlier, 100 Nights of Hero, that’s in post-production now?

As someone who has spent years honing my craft in the film industry, I can confidently say that the project we’re discussing is one of the most exciting endeavors I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. The fact that I was cast first by Julia Jackman, a director whose work I have long admired and respected, adds an extra layer of excitement to this opportunity.

In my experience, working with talented individuals like Emma and Maika is a rare treat, and I am eagerly anticipating the creative collaboration that lies ahead. Of course, no production is ever without its challenges, but if our collective efforts result in a polished final product, it will undoubtedly be a testament to the power of teamwork and passion for storytelling.

All in all, I’m feeling optimistic about this project and can’t wait to see where it takes us all.

Grant, and Felicity Jones, making it even more captivating. I’m hopeful that we’ll release it in 2025 if everything goes smoothly, as there seems to be a lot of interest in our trio, so I don’t anticipate any letdown.

Movies like “Anora” and “The Substance” suggest a fascination with the peculiar, the quirky, and the raw aspects of humanity. I find great satisfaction in balancing these roles, handling intense action scenes while also exploring deeply human stories.

I’ve derived great pleasure from acquiring life rights for individuals whom I’ve long desired to portray. This process comes with its own unique difficulties, but the research involved is both enjoyable and enlightening. It’s not about transformation for me, but rather an expansion of my existing work. Over the past few years, you may have noticed that I’ve been striving for diversity in my projects, and this trend will become more pronounced over the next year, which I find incredibly thrilling.

As a devoted fan, I’ve noticed that the actors I admire most possess an incredible knack for adapting, transforming, and growing. It’s this versatility that ensures their lasting success. Time will tell if they continue to thrive as anticipated. But trust me, it’s not easy keeping my excitement bottled up!

You mentioned life rights — can share more, maybe what realms those people are in?

From a gamer’s perspective, I often ponder over the idea of comparing real life to a gaming realm. Frankly, it can be quite a challenge. You see, the world of games is more interactive and hands-on – it’s a realm where we actively engage in tasks and challenges. Real life, on the other hand, has its own unique form of ‘physicality’, but it’s not quite the same as the physicality found within games. It involves experiences that are tangible yet intangible at the same time.

So it could be either Arnold Schwarzenneger or Charlie Chaplin?

I’m intentionally keeping things ambiguous for now, but I hope there will be some news for you in the upcoming year, provided that the timing works out appropriately.

Are you also starring in the films you’re producing?

They’re both primary roles in the production. Many people also enjoy directing, but I don’t think I’m at a stage where I need to take on that responsibility yet. For me, producing offers a broader view of the creative aspects of the job, encompassing areas like casting, mood, or cinematography.

Instead, it’s also crucial to actively search for unique characters by yourself since the industry may not necessarily view you beyond what you currently are or have presented. I often advise fellow actors to stop relying on others and instead seek out stories that resonate with them. Waiting for opportunities from others can be exhausting.
