Nicholas Hoult to Star in David Leitch’s Bank Heist Thriller for Amazon MGM

Actor Nicholas Hoult will be taking on a leading role in an as-yet-unnamed bank robbery thriller, which David Leitch is helming for Amazon MGM Studios and Imagine Entertainment.

Leitch, together with his wife and producing partner Kelly McCormick under the 87North label, will also create a project in collaboration with Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum from Imagine.

The production companies Amazon, Imagine, and 87North are tightly guarding secrets about their upcoming project, however, the script is penned by Mark Bianculli, who previously worked as a writer and consulting producer on Amazon’s series about Nazi hunting titled Hunters.

Reports indicate that The Hollywood Reporter is privy to a plot about a gang of clever bank robbers who broadcast their crimes on social media, engaging in a game of hide-and-seek with the police. Over the course of nearly a decade, Bianculli and Imagine have been refining this project, but details regarding Hoult’s character remain undisclosed.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned about a movie plot where a group of smart bank robbers post their heists on social media to evade the police. Bianculli and Imagine have been working on this project for almost a decade, but we don’t know who Hoult might play in it.

A summer shoot is being planned, and Amazon is planning to release the feature in theaters.

Last year, I found myself stepping into three diverse roles that truly pushed my acting boundaries. In Justin Kurzel’s “The Order”, I portrayed a chilling white supremacist, in Clint Eastwood’s “Juror No. 2”, I delved into the complexities of a tormented husband, and in Robert Egger’s Gothic masterpiece “Nosferatu”, I battled an abhorrent vampire, all set against lush backdrops. What a journey it was!

Next, Ian Houlth takes on the role of Lex Luthor, a notorious comic book villain, in James Gunn’s Superman movie. This blockbuster hits theaters globally on July 11.

Hoult is repped by UTA, Sloane Offer, and UK management firm 42.
