As a long-time movie enthusiast who has seen my fair share of horror flicks, I must say that Neon’s “Longlegs” has truly left an indelible mark on the genre. The film, directed by Osgood Perkins and starring the brilliant Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, has not only captured my attention but also the hearts of millions around the world, grossing over $100 million globally!
The supernatural thriller “Longlegs,” directed by Osgood Perkins and featuring Nicholas Cage and Maika Monroe, surpassed the $100 million milestone at worldwide box offices since its release on July 12th.
In 2024, the horror film “Longlegs,” a production of Tom Quinn’s award-winning specialty company, has surpassed all other films to become their highest-grossing movie, amassing a North American total of $72 million. This film was jointly financed and produced by Dave Caplan from C2, along with Eric Roberts, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Chris Ferguson.
The Black Bear company acquired global rights to the horror movie, generating $31 million from worldwide sales. Notably, Longlegs was responsible for distribution within the U.K. and Ireland – the highest earning international market for this film so far, with a box office income of $10 million.
Following Neon’s announcement that Perkins’ fourth film, “Longlegs,” would be a highly anticipated cinematic event, the movie has not yet been released in several significant regions, such as Latin America and Italy. Meanwhile, Elevation Pictures, Black Bear’s sister company, has generated more than $7 million from the North American box office with its release in Canada.
In February 2025, Perkins will team up once more with Neon, C2, and Black Bear in the upcoming Stephen King movie adaptation titled “The Monkey“. The film will star Theo James. Kavanaugh-Jones from Range and Ferguson of Oddfellows are producing this project together with James Wan and Dave Caplan for C2.
Furthermore, Neon plans to debut “Keeper,” a film featuring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland, in addition to collaborating with Monroe once more on the follow-up to David Robert Mitchell’s “It Follows,” titled “They Follow.”
