Nina Dobrev, Candice King and Kat Graham Have ‘Vampire Diaries’ Reunion

As a self-proclaimed “TVD” (The Vampire Diaries) enthusiast with over a decade of supernatural fandom under my belt, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia seeing Nina Dobrev, Candice King, and Kat Graham reunite in Mystic Falls once again. These three actresses, who played our beloved Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie, have been an integral part of my teenage years and beyond.

Nina Dobrev, Candice King and Kat Graham will always find their way back to Mystic Falls.

This past weekend, the trio of actresses who were part of The Vampire Diaries, gathered for a reunion at the I Was Feeling Festive 2 convention held in Covington, Georgia. They not only posed for pictures with fans but also joined in panel discussions.

Dobrev, King, and Graham shared an Instagram video together, accompanied by the Simple Plan song “I’m Just a Kid.” In this video, they reenacted an old photograph from when they were filming the series, taken during their younger years.

“We’re still just kids,” they captioned the post.

In the premiere on September 10, 2009, Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley made their first joint screen appearance on “The Vampire Diaries.” The show ran for eight seasons until it ended in 2017. Interestingly, Nina Dobrev left the series at the end of season six, but she came back for a guest spot during the final episode.

The popular series, featuring Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder in leading roles, primarily revolved around a love triangle involving human character Elena and the vampire siblings Stefan Salvatore (portrayed by Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Somerhalder). However, their lives were frequently disrupted by peril and calamity, pulling Elena and her companions into the mystical realm of Mystic Falls, Virginia, teeming with vampires, witches, werewolves, and other supernatural beings.

Besides Dobrev, Graham, and King, several other cast members from “Vampire Diaries” attended the fan convention in Covington. These included Wesley, Somerhalder, Michael Malarkey (Enzo), Arielle Kebbel (Lexi), Zach Roerig (Matt) as well as others.

This year, in honor of 15 years since “The Vampire Diaries” first aired, its creator Julie Plec looked back on the show she made with Kevin Williamson and discussed how it kick-started a fantasy series franchise, encompassing “The Originals” and “Legacies”.

In her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, she reminisced about her desire to narrate a deeply emotional tale that was both seductive and romantic, as well as terrifying. Simultaneously, she aimed to produce something that seemed eternal, capable of enduring and continuing to resonate with anyone, from any generation, at any point in time.
