As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but marvel at the long-awaited evolution of the Nintendo Switch series. The Nintendo Switch 2, unveiled officially just this January, has been six years in the making – a testament to Nintendo’s vision and foresight. While we got our first glimpse of it during April’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, it seems that Nintendo had been harboring dreams for this console line far longer than most people realized, as suggested by court documents from Nintendo’s lawsuit against Genki.
It’s worth noting that according to Insider Gaming, the formal development of what we now call Nintendo Switch 2 started back in 2019, six years after the initial launch of the original Switch in 2017. Leaked court documents offer a glimpse into what we already know about the upcoming Switch 2, such as its upgraded specifications, larger display, and additional features.
