I have a strong affection for action films, and few series can rival the thrilling action in the John Wick franchise. The inventive fight and chase scenes set these movies apart. Remarkably, there’s another lesser-known film that shares the same producer and writer as the first John Wick, and it has come surprisingly close to replicating that success: Nobody, starring Bob Odenkirk.

It was surprising that Bob Odenkirk, rather than the typical choice, took on a role in an action-packed movie, and this unexpectedness contributed to its success. I’ve been eagerly anticipating both the sequel of Nobody and the next installment of John Wick, but upon learning that Sharon Stone will portray the villain in Nobody 2, my excitement has grown even more intense. In a recent interview with Empire, director Timo Tjahjanto shared details about Stone’s character, hinting at an intriguing development for the franchise.

In the much-anticipated sequel Nobody 2, Bob Odenkirk’s character, Hutch, is back and has stepped into a world filled with violence once more. His plan for a peaceful family vacation, however, gets derailed when he crosses paths with a criminal organization led by Sharon Stone. Although the trailers for Nobody 2 hint at some truly bizarre events as described by Tjahjanto, the larger-than-life portrayal of Hutch is part of the excitement, given the over-the-top nature of the plot.

In recent years, Sharon Stone has been known for portraying diverse characters, but it’s been a while since we’ve witnessed the intense, captivating performance that we remember from films like ‘Basic Instinct’ and ‘Catwoman’. Despite its poor reception, Stone delivered an impressive performance in that movie. The director stated that Stone was his top pick for the role, although he didn’t anticipate she’d accept it; however, she ended up surprising him with her decision. Tjahjanto remarked.

In an unexpected turn of events, I initially believed that securing Sharon Stone for our project would be impossible. However, we submitted a script, and just a few days later, I found myself on her couch, discussing the character with her. Her response was something along the lines of, “Alright, Timo, I’m ready to jump on board.” The experience was absolutely surreal.

Timo Tjahjanto appears genuinely thrilled to have secured Sharon Stone for the cast of Nobody 2. This upcoming film is set to be one of Stone’s most notable recent acting projects. Additionally, Colin Hanks portrays a corrupt sheriff in the movie, while Connie Nielsen reprises her role as Hutch’s wife and Christopher Lloyd returns as Hutch’s father.

Initially, Sharon Stone was chosen for the antagonist role in “Blue Beetle,” but unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the production. However, even though “Nobody 2” isn’t officially a comic book movie, her character seems to have villainous traits. Given her acting prowess, it would be intriguing to see her embody this role when the sequel hits cinemas everywhere on August 15.
