During Paris Fashion Week, COMME Day stands out as a significant ritual that kick-starts the whole industry before 10 am. Throughout the day, we have a trio of golden highlights: Junya Watanabe presents in the morning, Noir Kei Ninomiya takes over in the afternoon, and finally, COMME des GARÇONS graces us with its presence in the early evening.
In the Fall/Winter season of 2025, Noir Kei Ninomiya commemorated a decade of fashion shows with delight. Known for his ethereal and luxurious designs, this collection delved into the Japanese designer’s fascination with grand textures.
The performance began in a dimly lit space bathed in blue hues. To start, models strutted along the runway adorning bioluminescent structures reminiscent of crystallized anemones. These structures were meticulously crafted from resin tendrils that glimmered like they were submerged on the ocean floor when hit by light. As the lights intensified, these crystalline armor pieces morphed into more gothic underwater entities. A large poncho and dress, composed of gathered orbs, bore a striking resemblance to prickly sea urchins.
3D-printed headpieces resembling sculptural, windblown fascinators were featured on every model within the collection. As the show progressed, textures and colors became more vibrant. Puffy bows made of plush material, multicolored woven yarns, and rainbow embellishments graced each outfit, culminating in a charming and distinctively Ninomiya fashion show spectacle.
Each model donned 3D-printed headpieces that looked like windswept fascinators with a sculptural feel. The collection’s color palette grew brighter as it progressed, featuring puffy plush bows, multicolored woven yarns, and rainbow ornaments on every garment, creating a cheerful and signature Ninomiya runway moment.
