Nordic Knots Highlights Scandinavian Design Heritage With Modernist Collection

Nordic Knots has introduced its Modernist Collection, a fresh assortment of rugs influenced by the Swedish Funkis design trend from the 20th century. This creative era, known for pioneering a unique style marked by functional minimalism and avant-garde industrial techniques, is encapsulated in six new designs crafted from luxurious New Zealand wool.

Unifying the Modernist Collection is a focus on symmetry and sleek geometrical designs, which exemplifies the sophisticated perspective of Scandinavian designers such as Edvard Heiberg, Arne Jacobsen, and Alvar Aalto.

In this version, I have tried to simplify the original sentence while maintaining its essence, using common and easy-to-understand language.

The Modern design showcases vibrant hues of pink, blue, green, and white, standing out against a black grid backdrop adorned with miniature square accents for added contrast. Geometric patterns are noticeable in different sizes across the Pavillion, characterized by its daring black lines, while the Grid boasts slightly displaced squares in a similar fashion.

In another location, Swedish architect Andreas Martin-Löf was chosen to create a selection of rugs inspired by his private space and local architecture in Norr Mälarstrand, Stockholm. The designs by Martin-Löf differ from the strict geometric patterns found in the collection with the organic 03 rugs, featuring off-set semi-circles in green and cream.

Instead of the bold version, consider these Lux 2 rugs crafted in deep tones like burnt orange, golden brown, gray, and white. With a variation of two millimeters in the height of the pile, they showcase an intricate pattern of rectangles that create a harmonious visual effect from multiple angles.
