Not just Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah makes it clear co-stars Taapsee Pannu and Rajkummar Rao are also not his ‘friends’: ‘We don’t sit and chat…’

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in the entertainment industry, I find Gulshan Devaiah’s perspective on co-star relationships both intriguing and relatable. His experiences working within the film fraternity mirror my own encounters, where maintaining professional boundaries is essential while still delivering captivating performances.

Recently, Gulshan Devaiah made headlines by expressing that he doesn’t feel a connection with his Ulajh co-star, Janhvi Kapoor. In a recent conversation with Galatta India, the actor reiterated this sentiment and added that it isn’t limited to just one actress; in fact, he doesn’t have many friends among his co-stars.

In a straightforward manner, Gulshan clarified, “I’ve collaborated with Taapsee and Rajkummar Rao; we merely exchanged cordial greetings. We don’t engage in deep conversations about life, nor are we personal friends. However, this doesn’t mean that we can’t work together effectively, much like how people often complete tasks at work without being friends with their colleagues.”

In the film Badhaai Do, Gulshan played Rajkummar’s romantic interest. Later, he was cast opposite Taapsee in the movie Blurr. Regarding a previous statement about Janhvi that had gained wide attention, Gulshan clarified his intent and stated that having a good vibe with someone isn’t always necessary to create chemistry on screen. He further added that he is conscious of the online harassment Janhvi has faced even in the past, and sometimes it exceeds acceptable limits. The actor from Shaitan also emphasized that such excessive trolling can be too much for anyone to bear.

Gulshan believes he and Janhvi are more colleagues than friends in their professional capacity. He understands that she can be quite private, and he appreciates this trait and doesn’t expect her to be overly friendly with him. “Some might think she’s standoffish because of her family background, but she’s incredibly respectful,” Devaiah clarified.

In terms of their professional lives, Gulshan and Janhvi have recently appeared in Sudhanshu Saria’s movie titled Ulajh. This film, financed by Junglee Pictures, was filmed in various locations, including India and London. The cast also included Roshan Mathew and Adil Hussain. The storyline centered around a young Indian Forest Service officer who has a family history of patriots unfortunately failed to attract audiences at the box office.

Soon, Devaiah will make an appearance in the upcoming film titled “Love Affair,” helmed by Soni Razdan. This production is a collaboration between T-Series and Fish Eye Network Pvt Ltd. Notable actors such as Ali Fazal, Kalki Koechlin, and Chandan Roy Sanyal will be taking on significant roles in the movie as well.
