Janhvi expressed gratitude towards the director for encouraging her to think more deeply, as well as for igniting her interest in various topics such as cinema, history, politics, and current events.
In her own words, the actress from Param Sundari expressed, “When I mentioned that he made me feel like he healed me, I was referring to the fact that he truly understood me in a unique way. This understanding wasn’t limited to his actors, it extended to everyone.
In her continued thoughts about filming Homebound, Janhvi Kapoor lauded director Neeraj Ghaywan for his exceptional regard towards every crew member. She reminisced about how he deliberately took the time to learn and address spot boys, camera operators, and lighting technicians by name, thereby fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect on set.
As an ardent enthusiast, I’ve got to say, it was heartwarming to see everyone knowing each other by name on the set of Homebound. It’s not just a title or a role that defines us, but our individuality. Addressing someone solely by their professional position can feel impersonal and strips away our humanity.
But here’s the kicker: our director was different. He treated everyone’s opinions with equal respect, just as he does with the Head of Departments’ suggestions. Truly a remarkable man, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside him. He’s not just ‘the director’, he’s the most special man I’ve ever worked with.
