Not Triptii Dimri but THIS actress was first approached for Anvita Dutt’s Bulbbul; Know why she rejected

As a devoted cinephile who has witnessed the transformative power of cinema, I can confidently assert that Bulbbul stands as a unique gem in our industry, a masterpiece that defies replication and ignites intrigue. The performance of Triptii Dimri was undeniably captivating, but it’s fascinating to learn about the role that could have been played by Radhikka Madan.

Without a doubt, Bulbbul stands as an unparalleled masterpiece that no one could possibly replicate, and there’s no room for argument on that point. This gripping period horror drama significantly transformed the acting career of Triptii Dimri, showcasing her in a completely new light following the film’s positive critical reception. Interestingly, however, many may not realize that Triptii wasn’t the original choice for Bulbbul; another actress was initially considered for the role instead.

Who was first approached for playing the lead in Bulbbul?

In a chat with India Today, Radhikka Madan was inquired about any roles she declined and swiftly mentioned Bulbbul as one of them. The actress from Angrezi Medium shared that she didn’t grasp the concept on paper and couldn’t foresee what would eventually unfold on screen. Reflecting on her decision, Radhikka pondered, “Why couldn’t I see that coming?”

30-year-old Radhikka shared that the character Bulbbul prompted her to reevaluate her approach towards script analysis. This setback encouraged her to discuss the director’s perspective, ultimately leading to a shift in her thought process. “It was a significant turning point for me,” Madan further explained.

In collaboration with Clean Slate Films, co-owned by Anushka Sharma and her brother, the movie “Bulbbul” explored societal structures like patriarchy and advocated for feminist ideals, all while being rooted in a Bengali folklore narrative about a woman who suffered injustice.

Does Radhikka Madan contemplate box office performances before signing a film?

“Madan exclaimed, ‘No way! Not ever!’ She explained that she chooses a film based on whether a character frightens her or if she has the opportunity to collaborate with a director or actor she admires. For instance, Irrfan Khan, Homi Adjani, and Vishal Bhardwaj are some of those figures. She clarified, ‘It’s never about box office success for me.'”

Radhikka Madan, the star of Shiddat, expressed that those who provide box office figures are not held in high regard. She’s observed that individuals who have achieved hits nowadays are treated differently. In her words, “As long as respect isn’t present, what’s the value of box-office numbers?” Instead, she emphasized the importance of earning respect and having people support you. To her, gaining respect is more crucial than achieving success at the box office.

Last seen in Sarfira, Radhikka Madan will be next seen in Sanaa.
