Greetings! You’ve found Off The AppStore, a unique weekly feature. Here, we highlight games that are played on your mobile device but fall beyond the boundaries of the usual platforms – Google Play Store and Apple AppStore.

Some games may not be available in your regular app store, but don’t worry! You might have to download alternative app stores or APKs instead. Some games can also be played directly through your phone browser without the need for an installation. We’ll explain how to access each game. So, keep reading to discover unique and exciting games that you won’t find on the regular app store.

In the beginning, Poncle didn’t have a clue about the direction they were steering with Vampire Survivors. None of us could predict its outcome. All it seemed was an old-school arcade game, decorated with pixel art and horror aesthetics, where combat revolved around moving and letting the auto-attack handle enemies. Fast forward to now, barely three years post-release, and “Survivor-like” games have become a recognized genre, boasting several impressive titles. The team at MarinoDev aims to add another success story with their chilling (not in an unpleasant way) project, Vincent: Mansion of the Dead.

Title translation: A Mansion Filled with the Deceased, Where Vincent Resides –

In this game, it follows a formula similar to Survivors, where you’re a character with multiple attacks that can be enhanced or new ones acquired by defeating enemies and gathering glowing EXP orbs. These upgrades may include passive stat boosts, active defenses, or additional weapons that function as expected. However, unlike in traditional Survivors, you are not just passively defending; instead, you must strategically aim your attacks at the undead posing the greatest threat. Explore the mansion to uncover hidden treasures in the shadows, and just like in The Legend of Zelda series, smash all the pots for surefire rewards.

As a devoted admirer, I must say that what truly sets Vincent: Mansion of the Dead apart is its innovative choice to be a 3D game, and let me tell you, it’s visually striking! The animations might be straightforward, but they are rich in character, keeping you engaged as you strive to endure long enough to uncover the other monstrous inhabitants lurking within the mansion. Plus, the longer you manage to survive, the more skill points you accumulate, which can be used to enhance your abilities, unlock power-ups, and even introduce new characters!

You can check out Vincent: Mansion of the Dead on its itch.io page!
