Offspring Reveals adidas Consortium Cup Winning Collaboration

As a dedicated sneakerhead and avid follower of the adidas Consortium Cup tournament, I couldn’t help but be thrilled when UK retailer Offspring emerged as the victor last year. Their journey through the competition was nothing short of inspiring – battling it out against 15 other retailers from around the globe and ultimately winning after creating four unique designs that showcased their creativity and vision.

1. Last year at the start, UK retailer Offspring emerged victorious in adidas Consortium’s inaugural Cup competition. This global sneaker design contest featured 16 retailers competing in a four-round tournament, where shops were eliminated based on public votes after each round. In the final battle between two British retailers, it was Offspring from London that took home the win by designing four unique shoe styles.

1. Following four unique iterations on the adidas Samba, adidas Centennial Low, and adidas’ ZX8000, Offspring combined the adidas Response CL with Raf Simons’ RS OZWEEGO in a final match-up to produce the “Offspring OFFS-weego”. This shoe has now been brought to life, and its light-toned pair pays tribute to Britain’s retired £1 note.

1) The hybrid model resembles the old £1 coin that’s no longer used, much like the RS OZWEEGO, which was recently discontinued along with the designer’s brand. The beige, brown, and grey color scheme mirrors the interior walls of the Bank of England, while the mesh Response CL uppers incorporate subtle OZWEEGO piping combined with textured panels, bringing a pop of brightness to the white foundation. Holographic Offspring logos and etched serial numbers replicate bill designs on top of three-dimensional two-toned soles.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but draw your attention to the captivating Offspring x adidas Response RS OZWEEGO “£1 Note” sneakers showcased above. Mark your calendars for August 3rd, as these stylish kicks will be available both in-store and online through Offspring. The price? A cool £140 GBP, roughly equivalent to $180 USD. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to add a piece of shoe history to your collection!
