‘Oh My God!’ A Kevin Smith Classic Is Getting The 4DX Treatment That I Need To See At Once

Just like any other year in cinema, the slate of films scheduled for 2025 promises fresh and exhilarating experiences. There’s a significant number of movie enthusiasts who eagerly anticipate special screenings too. A prime example of this is the revival of the film Dogma, which was previously shown in various locations across the country before having a wide release.

If you happened to overlook the incredibly funny and spiritual film “Dogma”, fear not! It’s returning, but this time in the immersive 4DX format. Yes, I must admit, I’m taken aback by saying that, but get ready for an experience that feels almost divine. The film will be screened at select Regal 4DX theaters on September 15, 17, 22, 24, and 29. Even Brother Kevin has given his blessing to this special showing.

As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but ponder over the potential elements of this 4DX experience. Will we be swaying along with Jay and Silent Bob during their lively dance at the strip club in Serendipity? Could we even feel the sense of loss that Bartleby (Ben Affleck) experienced when he lost his wings? But what really intrigues me is whether the Golgothan will bring that scene to life in an intensely immersive way.

It seems we might discard the final one, to tell the truth. There are plenty of scenes and characters that could benefit from a 4DX upgrade after 25 years. If this discussion gains enough traction, perhaps other studios will be motivated to enhance more classic films with premium effects. I can easily imagine several movies I’ve earmarked for potential IMAX re-releases that would thrive in such treatment. (By the way, Speed Racer is one of them!)

Following numerous years of “Dogma’s” legal rights disputes preventing its release, the summer screenings felt like a heavenly spectacle. Given the film has been out of reach for so long, another cinematic comeback seems entirely fitting. Moreover, after the positive response at Cannes, it could be argued that the movie has shown remarkable resilience and grace with age.

Although I might challenge Kevin Smith‘s assertion that this film is solely deserving of a 4DX screening (until the anticipated release of Dogma II), I am delighted to learn that Dogma will once again grace the big screen. If its performance merits a campaign for Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back in 4DX, it would be more than just good fortune that made it happen.

On this occasion, there are collections that effectively portray the heroic voyage associated with Red Bank, all in an effort to avert Armageddon. As a local of this magnificent state, I can attest that even the most ordinary trip is transformed into a grand adventure due to the challenging road conditions and the struggle to find parking.

If you’re keen, tickets are currently available for the movie “Dogma” right now. Be sure to look at your calendar for those September dates and remind your friends as well! Wishfully thinking, if only we could bring Kevin Smith’s ideal “Dogma” popcorn bucket out on that day, it would make the experience even better!
