As a seasoned gamer and art enthusiast with a soft spot for unique footwear, I must say that Takashi Murakami’s latest Ohana Hatake releases have piqued my interest. The “Meteorite” and “Star White” colorways of the Ohana Full-Bloom silhouette are a refreshing departure from his usual vibrant color palettes, offering a more minimalist take on his design language.
After the successful launch of his unique footwear brand, Takashi Murakami is now broadening his Ohana Hatake collection, featuring the Ohana Full-Bloom design in two fresh color options: “Meteorite” and “Star White”.
The brand’s name, “Field of Flowers,” is inspired by a touching scene from the manga series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. This scene particularly struck Murakami as it depicted a spell that brings forth a field of flowers, a symbol that aligns with his lifelong artistic focus on floral themes.
Instead of his usual bright color schemes, these latest designs opt for a chic black-and-white theme, adopting a minimalist style for the brand’s artistic expression. The Ohana Full-Bloom still showcases Murakami’s famous floral motif, while hinting at the upcoming Surippa Ohana model, which breaks from tradition by taking on a new design approach. Drawing inspiration from classic Japanese house slippers, this innovative creation incorporates Murakami’s artwork into the rubber sole, demonstrating the brand’s dedication to merging cultural history with modern aesthetics.
The two new color options are now up for grabs on Ohana Hatake’s online store, each priced at $120 USD. Don’t forget to follow their official Instagram account for further updates.
