As a long-time fan of “Love is Blind,” I must admit that this season has left me utterly bewildered and somewhat disenchanted. Having watched every season since its inception, I can confidently say that Season 7 is a far cry from the heartwarming, soulful stories we’ve grown to love.
I’ve been an ardent follower of “Love is Blind” since its debut, and lately, I’ve started watching the global adaptations as well. This show captivates me, despite its occasional chaos. Being a hopeless romantic, I find myself drawn to the concept of falling in love without seeing the person first. It ranks among my top favorite romantic comedy concepts.
It’s incredibly romantic to have feelings like chemistry, love, and affection before physical attraction becomes a factor. Shows like “Love is Blind” and other romance reality TV series are captivating because they offer the magic, suspense, and faith in unwavering love. Unfortunately, Season 7 of “Love is Blind” seems to be shattering that illusion and dampening the mood.
This season of Love is Blind is proving to be quite intriguing for fans of reality TV show drama, but it’s not so wonderful if you subscribe to the idea that love is blind and eternal. So let’s delve into Love is Blind Season 7 and discuss what we think about it!
Warning Love Is Blind Season 7 Spoilers Are Ahead. Proceed With Caution.
Why Are So Many Couples Incompatible?
Season 7 of “Love is Blind” boasts an abundance of romantic pairs, making it seem like more than any previous season. It’s a positive aspect because it offers additional opportunities for the show to potentially create a lasting love story from this season, as they’ve been finding it quite challenging to do so in the past. The pod conversations in “Love is Blind” Season 7 have made most couples appear well-suited for each other, displaying the innocent charm of people experiencing love for the first time. This endearing quality makes these couples appealing and ones you eagerly hope will find lasting love and joy.
Initially, the early stages in the pods presented some concerns, but they didn’t seem significant enough for the dramatic turns that later occurred among several couples from Love is Blind Season 7. Once they stepped out of the pods, the real turbulence began. It’s been rocky for every couple, as numerous challenges have arisen in their relationships. Ultimately, it appears that many of them aren’t well-suited for each other.
It appears there were some issues in the pods that left these contestants asking questions they shouldn’t have, as they seem to have overlooked obvious problems. This oversight lends a touch of humor to Love is Blind Season 7 since the main goal of this experiment is to find someone you connect with emotionally instead of being attracted physically. Sadly, these contestants missed the mark in fulfilling the essence of the show.
Is Anyone Going To Make It To The Altar?
Prior to the finale of “Love is Blind” Season 7, we’ve already seen three relationships disintegrate before reaching the altar. Additionally, another relationship that the producers chose not to explore further (confirmed by Netflix, they also parted ways). Now, we’re left with three couples to see if they decide to get married.
The state of many relationships appears quite challenging due to ongoing problems such as hidden offspring, disagreements over military duties, intrusive parents, and fears about the stability of their bond.
The statistics for Season 7 of “Love is Blind” might not be particularly high. I don’t anticipate any, some, or all of the remaining couples getting married, and that wouldn’t surprise me. This season doesn’t appear to be a resounding success for those who believe in the “Love is Blind” process. It seems like there are significant flaws this year.
I Can’t Believe All The Scandals
In Season 7 of “Love Is Blind,” there are numerous controversies that could compare favorably to some iconic moments on reality TV. The most significant one revolves around Tyler and his secret offspring. He provided sperm for a gay couple to conceive, which is a generous act, but he deceived Ashley about it. He hid the existence of the children until after their pod courtship, and since then, the situation, particularly the extent of Tyler’s involvement in the children’s lives, has remained a hot topic both on and off the show.
In the seventh season of ‘Love is Blind,’ Monica and Stephen find themselves at the center of a significant controversy. Following their engagement, Stephen was caught sending inappropriate texts to another woman, leading Monica to cancel their wedding plans. This isn’t the first scandal for ‘Love is Blind,’ but this season might just earn its place in the drama hall of fame due to its shocking twists and turns that even a scripted soap opera couldn’t dream up.
The Season Starts With A Ridiculous Amount Of Love Triangles
In the first season of “Love is Blind,” there was a well-known love quadrangle or triangle. Over the years, the show has featured many such relationships. However, in Season 7, multiple love triangles/quadrangles were highlighted, but the primary one involved Hannah, Nick, Leo, and Brittany. Eventually, Hannah chose Nick (but their relationship didn’t work out), while Leo ended up with Brittany, but that also didn’t last.
In this current dating scene, it appeared that everyone was maintaining a flexible approach to their romantic connections. While this strategy might work well within the Love is Blind pods, it seemed to foreshadow potential problems for couples. Many might later regret their choices if their relationships don’t succeed. To be honest, I dislike love triangles, whether they occur in real life or on TV shows. Instead, I prefer watching couples from Love is Blind who instantly become infatuated with each other and lose interest in everyone else. This intense focus on a single partner is what led to many successful relationships on the show. Consequently, I found myself disenchanted by the love triangles that were prevalent this season.
The Issues Seem More Serious Than Normal
Frequently, the conflicts in the show “Love is Blind” might seem insignificant to some, such as when partners have only a slight age difference. Yet, there are instances where these issues escalate into more substantial problems, including a lack of physical attraction, financial stress caused by the relationship, and cultural disparities. In Season 7, we witness several serious predicaments, encompassing infidelity, harmful behavior, disagreements about crucial partnership aspects, poor communication, and the previously mentioned hidden children.
It’s clear that these problems are significant enough to give insight into why numerous couples call off their weddings at the last minute. It seems obvious to me that these contestants would benefit from taking time to work on themselves before seeking a life partner. A period of self-reflection and therapy might have spared everyone some unnecessary effort.
Love Is Blind Season 7 Makes The Show Seem Like It’s Losing Its Initial Purpose
I really enjoyed “Love is Blind UK” as it seemed to return to its original essence. The show primarily concentrated on the quest for love and presented these seemingly perfect love tales that were almost unbelievable. In more recent installments, “Love is Blind” appears to have become overly engrossed in drama, perhaps losing some of the charm reminiscent of earlier seasons.
In simpler terms, “Season 7” suggests that the show has strayed from its original path. I’m a fan of reality TV shows, but I found Season 1 of “Love is Blind” particularly engaging because it was about testing whether the experiment would work. However, the current season seems to focus too much on drama and less on the charm of discovering someone’s soul and character. The first season struck a great balance between drama and demonstrating the experiment’s validity. To put it simply, “Love is Blind” should return to its original concept.
