Old Enemies Quest Guide for Disney Dreamlight Valley

As a seasoned gamer with years of virtual adventures under my belt, I must say that Disney Dreamlight Valley has truly outdone itself with Timon’s Old Enemies quest. It’s not every day you get to help a worried meerkat find peace in his new home while also dealing with the notorious Scar!

In Disney Dreamlight Valley, your objective during Timon’s first Friendship quest titled “The Old Enemies” is to help him establish a sense of security within the village. Since Timon harbors concerns about the potential perils near Pride Rock and the carnivores residing there, particularly Scar, your role involves making Pride Rock less intimidating and alleviating his apprehensions regarding the predators in the village.

In the role of the Dreamer, your task is to assist Timon in acclimating to his new surroundings by carrying out various tasks such as decorating, managing a trap, and arranging leisure time for both Timon and Pumbaa. By doing so, you will foster a stronger bond with Timon, earn Friendship points, and collect items to enhance Pride Rock’s decoration. To accomplish this mission in Disney Dreamlight Valley, continue reading below.

As a devoted fan, I embark on an exhilarating adventure known as the Old Enemies Quest. Here, Timon entrusts me with several missions: transforming Pride Rock into a lush Jungle Oasis, navigating a trap within Scar’s lair, and crafting delightful treats like Dreamlight Ice Cream and a calming board game to unwind Timon. Along the journey, I cross paths with a variety of characters, including Pumbaa, Scar, and the charming Vanellope.

How to Start the Old Enemies Quest

To start the “Old Enemies” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, ensure that you’ve previously unlocked both characters, Timon and Pumbaa. After they have established themselves in the village, prioritize building up your relationship with Timon.

Boosting your friendship with someone like Timon can be achieved through regular chats or by giving gifts that strengthen the bond. When you reach friendship level 2 with him, Timon might express concern about harmful individuals in the town, marking the beginning of his old adversaries’ return.

Decorate Pride Rock (Create a Jungle Oasis)

At the start of the adventure, Timon shows unease in his latest environment and seeks your assistance in making Pride Rock a tranquil Jungle Paradise for Simba and Nala. To achieve this, Timon offers several items such as plants and ornaments to be strategically arranged around Pride Rock. Among these objects are:

  • Small Palm Trees – 3
  • Short Jungle Plants – 3
  • Wide Jungle Plants – 3
  • Base – 10

Transform Pride Rock into a lush oasis using your creative touch with these items. Once you’ve finished decorating, please take a 15-minute break, then come back and inform Timon that we’ve successfully created the Jungle Oasis. This should alleviate his tension somewhat, but keep in mind that Scar is still lurking around the village, causing Timon to remain uneasy.

Remove Vanellope’s Trap in Scar’s Cave

Since Timon’s scared of Scar, Vanellope attempts to help him by setting a trap inside the cave, hoping it will keep him safe. However, the predicament might escalate if left unattended. Your assignment now is to head to Scar’s cave to handle the trap before things get out of control.

Go into the cave, find the trap, and neutralize it using your pickaxe. Later on, make your way towards Scar, express regret, and remind him of the importance of maintaining harmony in the village. After that, have a chat with Vanellope to help her understand that Scar is no longer a threat, despite any misconceptions others might have.

Craft a Board Game and Dreamlight Ice Cream

Despite your attempts, Timon continues to grapple with his fear. To alleviate it, Pumbaa recommends an enjoyable activity as a stress reliever. For our upcoming game night, let’s create a soothing board game and whip up some Dreamlight Ice Cream to enhance the relaxing atmosphere. Here’s what you’ll need:

Board Game

  • Softwood (x12): Can be found in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, or the Forest of Valor. It is also available from Kristoff’s Stall.
  • Glass (x3): Crafted by combining Sand (x5) with Coal Ore at a Crafting Table. You can also buy Glass from Kristoff’s Stall.
  • Gold Ingot (x1): Created by combining Gold Nuggets (x5) with Coal Ore at a Crafting Table or you can also buy it from Kristoff’s Stall.

Dreamlight Ice Cream

  • Dreamlight Fruit (x3): Obtained from the Dreamlight Tree after completing the third Friendship quest (Seed of Memories) of Simba.
  • Milk (x3): Purchased from Chez Remy’s Restaurant.
  • Slush Ice (x3): Unlocked by completing the Unknown Flavor quest.

After gathering all required items, cook up the Dreamlight Ice Cream in a Pot for preparation, and then create your board game at the Crafting Station. This process is designed to soothe Timon, allowing you both to spend some pleasant moments together with Pumbaa.

Enjoy a Relaxing Time with Timon and Pumbaa

After gathering the board game and an ice cream, make your way back to Timon. Offer him the ice cream and enjoy a game of the board game together, which should aid his relaxation. To conclude this task, stow the board game in a suitable location within the village.

Snap a photo with Timon and Pumbaa as a memento of the moment. In the end, have a conversation with Timon to round off the Old Enemies mission. He’ll thank you for your assistance in making him feel more at ease in the village. Upon completion of the quest, you’ll receive these rewards:

  • Friendship points (440)
  • Base (x50)
  • Small Palm Tree (x6)
  • Short Jungle Plant (x6)
  • Wide Jungle Plant (x6)

Some of these decorative items, like the Base and Wide Jungle Plants, can be returned to your inventory for future use, but the Small Palm Tree and Short Jungle Plants will disappear if picked up.
