OMG! First Look at Jimmy Olsen in New ‘Superman’ Movie!

In James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, several well-known DC characters will make their appearance for the first time, one of which is a character that hasn’t had an accurate portrayal in comics for many years. Previously seen as a CIA agent in Batman vs. Superman, Jimmy Olsen is set to take center stage on the big screen once more, this time working alongside his longtime friend, Clark Kent, who is none other than Superman himself. To mark the occasion of Olsen’s anniversary, Gunn shared a new image from the much-awaited filming process, showcasing Skyler Gisondo (known for his role in The Righteous Gemstones) as the Daily Planet journalist.

As a passionate cinema enthusiast, I couldn’t help but share a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set of ‘Superman’, where we saw director Gunn engaged in a conversation with actor Gisondo, donning his Jimmy Olsen costume. Jimmy Olsen, a character who first appeared anonymously in comic books in the late 1930s, officially debuted on the DC scene in ‘The Adventures of Superman’ radio show on April 15, 1940. Given that we’re approaching the 85th anniversary of this cherished character and with Superman Day just around the corner, it seems fitting to offer a fresh look at Olsen, especially since fans are eagerly awaiting more tantalizing insights into his role in the DCU film. Take a peek at the picture below, accompanied by the caption.

In the upcoming movie “Superman”, Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen will be working alongside a diverse group at the Daily Planet, including Clark Kent (David Corenswet), Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), editor-in-chief Perry White (Wendell Pierce), Steve Lombard (Beck Bennett), Cat Grant (Mikaela Hoover) and Ron Troupe (Christopher McDonald). The previews of the movie so far have emphasized its commitment to detail and comic book authenticity, particularly in regards to Superman and his supporting characters. If Director James Gunn is successful, this could be the most accurate portrayal of the Daily Planet yet, as suggested by the first trailer for the film. A new five-minute scene was recently shown during “A Minecraft Movie”, depicting Superman healing in the sun at the Fortress of Solitude.
