As a seasoned gamer who reminisces about the thrilling couch co-op sessions from the Xbox 360 era, I can’t help but be ecstatic about the resurgence of local co-op on mobile! It’s like reconnecting with an old friend you thought had moved away. The shared laughter, the tense moments, and the triumphant victories are all still there, just a download away.

Local co-op is alive and well on mobile
Some of my fondest memories of local co-op date back to the Xbox 360, gunning down the Locust horde in Gears of War or desperately trying to survive as long as possible battling zombies in Call of Duty: World at War. While that dates me a little, it also highlights that couch co-op has fallen by the wayside in recent times somewhat. That’s partly because most people team up with their buddies online instead. Still, it’s not quite the same as enjoying a game in person. The good news is there are local co-op games on mobile! That’s right, and we’ve made a
list of a few you should try

Pinball in your palm
Now that we’ve promoted playing games in person, let’s go back to avoiding them. Pinball is a wonderful thing. A proper physical machine is an audio-visual treat with its many lights and sound effects accompanying the ricocheting of a tiny ball. But not everyone knows where to find their closest tables or has the time to do so. Thankfully, there are some pretty good pinball games on mobile to fill that void. Check out

Game of the Week
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance
Ironhide Studios’ latest tower defence in their popular series recently released, and it’s a great time. Building on the previous instalments, it offers the usual brand of humour we’ve come to love alongside the gameplay loop of a relaxing start that builds into a frantic finish as enemies increase in the later waves.
