As a devoted fan of Ginnifer Goodwin and her enchanting portrayal of Snow White in Once Upon a Time, it is hard not to feel a twinge of excitement when considering a potential reboot of this beloved series. From the magical world of Zootopia to the captivating drama of Big Love, Goodwin’s talent has graced both the big and small screens with an unforgettable charm that leaves audiences spellbound.
Actress Ginnifer Goodwin boasts an impressive resume spanning both big and small screens. From movies like “Zootopia” and “Walk the Line,” to TV shows such as “Why Women Kill” and “Big Love,” Goodwin’s talent is undeniable. For many, however, she will forever be synonymous with her six-season portrayal of Snow White on “Once Upon a Time.” Co-starring Josh Dallas as Prince Charming and Jennifer Morrison as their daughter, the show concluded in 2018. With talk of potential reboots beyond the 2024 TV schedule, Goodwin has shared her thoughts on the matter.
As I eagerly await the arrival of Zootopia 2, I can’t help but reminisce about my days as a princess from Once Upon a Time, sharing some thoughts with the lovely folks at People magazine.
As a fervent admirer, I’ve been picking up whispers about a potential revival, and if the opportunity arises, I’d be more than willing to lend my talents. Given that I reside just a stone’s throw from the creator, I’m always keeping an ear open for any news.
Originally, “Once Upon a Time” was produced by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz for ABC, and they weren’t taken aback when they learned that the show would conclude after Season 7. Interestingly, Season 7 served as something of a reboot, as many of the primary cast members from the first six seasons – including Ginnifer Goodwin – were absent. However, Goodwin made a return for what turned out to be the final episode of the series.
Indeed, her role in “Once Upon a Time” significantly impacted her personal life due to a magical plot twist. In reality, Goodwin is married to Josh Dallas, mirroring their on-screen love story in the series. Goodwin further explained this connection.
I have such a strong desire to return, as my entire existence seems to revolve around it. In essence, I tied the knot with my very own Prince Charming, and our children are an extension of that union.
It seems reasonable to assume that many fans of “Once Upon a Time” would rejoice at the prospect of a new take on Snow White and Prince Charming, especially given the unsuccessful attempts to pair Ginnifer Goodwin with Josh Dallas in “Manifest”. Notably, Goodwin remains linked to Disney, having agreed to reprise her character Judy Hopps in the sequel to “Zootopia”. It might be intriguing to incorporate elements of Snow White into future Disney projects, considering that interest in the character could potentially surge due to the 2025 release of a live-action “Snow White” film.
Regardless if Snow White and Prince Charming make a comeback on TV, it’s simple to revisit the original series of Once Upon a Time by subscribing to the right streaming services. With Hulu, you can access all seven seasons, while a Disney+ subscription offers all seven seasons plus the spin-off series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as well.
It’s quite amusing to me that Disney+ categorizes “Once Upon a Time” as both “soap operas” and “fantasy.” While it’s clear the show falls under fantasy, given its fairy tale premise, I wasn’t expecting the description to acknowledge its soap opera-like aspects. After all, the series can get quite dramatic, with its share of both positive and negative over-the-top moments.
