One Agatha All Along Star Really ‘Wanted A Second Season’ And Same, Girl, Same

The Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ made an impressive debut with the distinctive series “WandaVision.” Even though many fans wished for a second season, it didn’t happen. Instead, we got last year’s spin-off, “Agatha All Along,” which delved into the storyline of Kathryn Hahn’s character from “WandaVision.” Many, including Patti LuPone and myself, are eagerly awaiting a second season of “Agatha All Along.

In a conversation with Andy Cohen, Patti Lupone shared an experience where she found out her character, Lilia, was getting killed off during Agatha All Along. Lupone expressed her main disappointment as she enjoyed being part of the show and looked forward to possibly returning for more seasons. However, showrunner Jac Schaeffer clarified that this wouldn’t be possible even if Lilia had survived. In other words, Lupone said…

Jac Schaeffer, the show creator, visited me in my trailer and shared the news that Lilia’s character would not survive. I expressed my wish for a second season, but she mentioned her preference for not doing multiple seasons. She had been asked to create a second season of WandaVision, but chose not to due to having too much material to write. She creates standalone episodes instead, and I truly hope that I will have the opportunity to collaborate with her again in the future as she is simply magical.

As far as the official word goes, we’re unsure if there will be another season of Agatha All Along. Although it hasn’t been officially canceled, the upcoming Marvel series for the next few years have been confirmed, leaving room for speculation about a second season. However, if a second season were in development and LuPone wasn’t involved, she wouldn’t have any inside information. That said, as LuPone states here, Schaeffer hasn’t announced plans for a Season 2 yet, so it seems doubtful that one is currently in the works.

It’s no surprise that Patti LuPone wishes to reappear. The magic of “Agatha All Along” seemed to stem from the extraordinary chemistry between the characters, and it appears this was due to their strong bond off-screen as well. I can’t help but hope for another opportunity to witness them all sharing the screen together again. As LuPone herself expressed…

I thoroughly enjoyed participating, as the team was simply fantastic. We formed strong connections and had a wonderful time. Everyone involved in the project was exceptionally skilled.

Absolutely, just because a second season of “Agatha All Along” might not happen, it doesn’t necessarily mean the storyline is concluded. In fact, there could potentially be a single spinoff season that carries on the narrative, much like how Agatha was introduced from “WandaVision” and the upcoming “Vision Quest” series will do the same. Plus, it’s not unheard of for characters to die and then reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we might still see Patti LuPone return.
