The trailer for Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts has been released, catching the attention of fans who have pointed out that this movie appears to be addressing a question about Marvel that has been unanswered since 2017. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, it became known that Tony Stark had sold Avengers Tower, as the team was now operating from their new facility in upstate New York, which was introduced at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Since then, fans have pondered who bought Avengers Tower, with theories ranging from the Kingpin to the MCU’s Norman Osborn and even speculation about a potential new home for Marvel’s Fantastic Four prior to the confirmation that Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in an alternate universe.
User BJET notes that the trailers for Thunderbolts seem to suggest that the Avengers Tower will be featured in the movie. The scene shows the team facing off against Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) inside the tower, with a skyline resembling the southeast view from the MetLife Building, where the Avengers Tower once stood.
