One Piece Season 2 Just Gave Us Our First Look At Chopper, And Two Major Castings Have Also Been Confirmed

As a long-time One Piece fanatic who has journeyed through the Grand Line with Luffy and his crew since the very beginning, I can hardly contain my excitement as we approach Season 2 of the live-action adaptation on Netflix. The latest updates have been nothing short of electrifying!

The filming for Season 2 of “One Piece” started in South Africa in July, and although the exact release date for more episodes on Netflix hasn’t been announced yet, there have been numerous updates about casting. Today, we learned that two additional actors are joining Season 2, but the most exciting news might not be about them. In fact, we got our first glimpse of Chopper, the upcoming member of the Straw Hat Pirates in the live-action “One Piece”.

Our First Look At One Piece Season 2‘s Chopper

As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly wondering how Chopper, the unique reindeer with the power to transform between a regular reindeer, a towering human, and a smaller form blending both, will be portrayed in Netflix’s One Piece. Fortunately, Netflix has given us a sneak peek into what we might anticipate from his final form. Take a look:

Towards the conclusion of the One Piece Season 2 table read video, we catch a glimpse of Chopper, the smaller humanoid character with his unique pink hat, sitting among the cast and crew. Although it’s disappointing not to see Chopper’s face or learn who will portray him (there are rumors about Heavy Point Chopper), we now understand that this version of Chopper will be computer-generated rather than physical. The CGI model appears to have been carefully crafted, with details such as the fur on Chopper’s antlers and hat clearly visible. Fingers crossed that the finished product closely resembles Chopper’s appearance in the manga and anime.

Who’s Playing Mr. 0 And Miss All Sunday In One Piece Season 2

Besides announcing the Chopper unveil, Netflix also verified that Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova will portray Mr. 0 and Miss All Sunday, top members of Baroque Works in “One Piece”. These characters are better recognized as Crocodile and Nico Robin in their real names. Crocodile, the head of the criminal group, consumed the Sand Sand Fruit, enabling him to manufacture, manipulate, and transform his body into sand. On the other hand, Robin, his deputy, consumed the Flower-Flower Fruit, which grants her ability to replicate body parts on any surface or person.

Without giving away plot details for those unfamiliar with Netflix’s One Piece, I can tell you that these two characters will have significant roles in the overall storyline. Alexander Manganiello, famous for films such as Magic Mike, True Blood, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Moon Haven, is among them. Also joining the cast are Abova, who has appeared in the movie Anna and portrayed DJ Das Boot on the TV series Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. Other new faces include David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, and Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, or Vivi.

I sincerely hope that we’ll get our first comprehensive glimpse of Chopper before 2024 concludes, though if it slips into 2025, rest assured TopMob will keep you informed. In the meantime, consider perusing the 2024 TV schedule and exploring top-rated shows currently available on Netflix for some engaging viewing.
