At the 2025 Formula 1 Japan Grand Prix, Oracle Red Bull Racing plans to honor its long-standing collaboration with Honda by adorning their RB21s with a distinctive white and red homage livery. This design is inspired by Honda’s RA272, the car that brought Honda its inaugural F1 victory in 1965. The unique tribute will be displayed on both cars during the race at Suzuka.
This race car’s design honors the 60th anniversary of Honda’s first victory at the Mexico GP, which was achieved by American driver Richie Ginther. It features a Japanese flag theme, a large “H” emblem on the front, and traditional Honda branding at the back. Additionally, a unique 60th-anniversary logo will be displayed on all four Red Bull cars during the race.
Christian Horner, CEO and team leader of Oracle Red Bull Racing, stated that the tribute signifies “the culmination of a fantastic collaboration,” yielding four Driver’s championships and two Manufacturer’s titles during their time working together with Honda engines.
Koji Watanabe, Head of Honda Racing Corporation, found the design quite emotional. He also stated that the partnership between Honda and Red Bull will continue to be a significant part of Formula 1’s history, leaving a lasting impression.
As a gamer, I’m pumped to be part of history again! This is my second time racing in the Honda white for Red Bull, reminiscent of the adored 2021 Turkey GP livery. The Japan GP is shaping up to be an epic event with a Tokyo takeover and a historic Showrun, all part of Red Bull’s grand celebration!
