Tiffany & Co. is thrilled to share the news of their creative alliance with versatile artist Oscar Wang, marking the Lunar New Year celebration. This partnership merges Tiffany’s timeless features with Wang’s individualistic design style, resulting in a signature theme and exclusive gift items that are contemporary yet culturally meaningful.
In a creative burst, Wang took cues from the art of pottery to create the unique emblem for our partnership. By merging the imagery of snakes and the endless loops of the figure-eight knot, he designed an aesthetic that echoes modern tastes. The focal point is a heart-shaped infinity symbol with winding serpentine lines, referencing Tiffany’s iconic Open Heart design, which embodies love’s essence. This symmetrical pattern represents intertwining hearts, forming an eight – a number signifying prosperity and good luck in Chinese tradition.
The focal point of this partnership showcases a versatile jewelry box, designed as an artistic interpretation of the chosen motif. Made from authentic Blanc de Chine porcelain, originating from Dehua, Fujian, it’s given a Tiffany blue ceramic coating, and embellished with a Chinese knot signifying prosperity and unity. Furthermore, this collaboration also emphasizes a standalone ceramic display rack, enabling jewelry to be showcased, suspended within the heart-shaped infinity sign’s structural frame.
In this partnership, Wang has created exclusive Lunar New Year packaging for Tiffany. The classic jewelry box and bags have been given a fresh look with gold ribbons and handles adorned in a shimmering finish. These elements feature heart-shaped serpent patterns that form an intricate shape reminiscent of an infinity symbol. Additionally, Wang has modernized traditional Chinese charms, which are suspended from the handle and resemble a heart-like loop, finished with vibrant red and tonal tassels.
