‘Outlander’ Prequel ‘Blood of My Blood’ Showcases Two New Romances in First Teaser

The world of Outlander is getting bigger later this year.

Starz has unveiled a sneak peek for the upcoming prequel, titled “Outlander: Blood of My Blood“. This spin-off from the popular time-traveling historical drama delves into the lives of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) parents. The network has announced that this new series is set to air during the summer months.

Meanwhile, the series “Outlander” wraps up its seventh season this coming Friday and has already finished filming for its eighth and last season. However, Starz has not announced when the final season will be released.

The show titled “Blood of My Blood” introduces us to two unique pairs of lovers who battle against all obstacles to stay together as their love stories unfold through different eras. According to Starz, the series description reveals that these couples will face challenges from the battlefields of World War I up to the rough Highlands of 18th century Scotland. The fate of these two romantic tales compels them to resist forces aiming to separate them, with their narratives intertwining in unexpected manners along the way. This prequel introduces Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy portraying Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, who are destined to be Jamie’s parents in 18th century Scotland. Meanwhile, Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine take on the roles of Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, characters whose tale unfolds during World War I-era England – these two pairs will eventually become Claire’s parents.

Alongside Rory Alexander, Sam Retford, Séamus McLean Ross, Conor MacNeill, Brian McCardie, Jhon Lumsden, Sara Vickers, Peter Mullan, Sally Messham, Terence Rae, Sadhbh Malin, Ailsa Davidson, Annabelle Dowler, and Harry Eaton, the ensemble is complete.

On the show Blood of My Blood, Matthew B. Roberts continues as the showrunner, working alongside Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, and Jim Kohlberg in executive production roles. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Ronald’s Tall Ship Productions, Matthew’s No Fooling Productions Inc., and Jim’s Story Mining & Supply Company.
