‘Overwatch 2’ Heroes To Receive ‘Street Fighter’ Skins in Upcoming Collaboration

Summary

  • Overwatch 2 will have a limited-time crossover event with Street Fighter
  • The collaboration features exclusive character skins transforming Overwatch heroes into Street Fighter characters
  • The event is scheduled to begin on May 20, 2025

The time-limited event featuring Overwatch 2 and Gundam Wing is almost over, but Blizzard Entertainment has another collaboration in store! They’re partnering with Capcom’s famous Street Fighter series for an upcoming crossover, merging the universes of heroes and fighters.

One key aspect of this partnership that really stands out is the unique character skins that are being introduced. As hinted in the promotional video, Zenyatta will assume the appearance of Dhalsim, featuring elongating limbs and a tranquil attitude similar to his new persona. Doomfist, on the other hand, will take on the role of Akuma from the Street Fighter series, possibly symbolizing Doomfist’s aggressive gameplay style. Characters like Juno, Kiriko, Winston, Sigma, Soldier: 76, Widowmaker, and Hanzo will also undergo transformations into Chun Li, Juri, Blanka, M. Bison, Guile, Cammy, and Ryu respectively. The goal is to preserve the essence of both characters, offering players a distinct visual experience.

In addition to alternate character appearances, it’s expected that the Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter partnership will also offer a range of cosmetic goods. This joint event is set to commence on May 20, 2025.
