Hits like “Be Our Guest,” “A Whole New World,” and “Hakuna Matata,” along with numerous others, gained widespread recognition and are now synonymous with Disney for countless fans. However, there are also many underrated Disney songs from the ’90s that have yet to receive their due appreciation.

The original and its sequel, titled “” and “: Sequel to Beetlejuice (1988)”, have finally arrived for viewers who can’t get enough. After making waves at the box office earlier this year and proving successful via VOD release, it has now climbed up the HBO Max charts as a top pick. The film debuted on December 6th, swiftly grabbing the number one position to extend the remarkable journey of a movie that nearly never came to fruition.

As a devotee, I’d say something like: “Anyone stirring up a prison riot with songs about ladies of the night and felines? That’s my kind of character!” Billy Bob Thornton muses in ‘Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and The Shitrockers Story’, a film boasting one of the most unwieldy titles to hit the screens lately. This unconventional comedy might not keep the laughs flowing consistently, but it’s got plenty of spirit in its unusual account of a Canadian band caught up in the whirlwind of touring with Thornton’s group across Europe.

Initially shown in 2016, Disney’s film titled Moana was followed by a sequel, known as “Moana 2“, which hit theaters on November 27, 2024. Both movies have been phenomenal at the box office, drawing crowds to cinemas eager to rejoin Moana on her journey of wayfinding in the sequel. Interestingly, although they are works of fiction, both Moana and Moana 2 draw inspiration from Polynesian legends and historical contexts.
