Aaron Pierre is Working Hard to Prepare for DCU’s John Stewart Role After Netflix’s Rebel Ridge Success

Aaron Pierre is putting in a lot of hard work to accurately depict the cherished Green Lantern character, John Stewart, in the upcoming HBO series titled “Lanterns.” Interestingly enough, Pierre isn’t new to the DC Comics universe, as he previously played Dev-Em, a member of Kandor City’s Sagitari, on Syfy’s Superman prequel show, “Krypton.” Recently, in an interview promoting his upcoming film, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” Pierre discussed taking on the role of one of the protectors in the DC Universe. James Earl Jones is widely admired as one of the greatest actors in American cinema, with iconic lines like “I am your father” from The Empire Strikes Back and his role as Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King franchise cementing his status. Jones has reprised the role of Mufasa in numerous follow-up appearances, even going back to the original 1994 film. This continued with his participation in the 2019 “live-action” remake, making him the only original cast member to do so.

TikTok’s Appeal to Overturn Ban Bill Denied by Federal Court

UPDATE: The Associated Press reports that a bill aimed at banning TikTok was upheld by a Federal Court on December 6. TikTok’s attempt to overturn a law mandating it to sever ties with Chinese company ByteDance was rejected by the U.S. Court of Appeals, which contended against the app using First Amendment rights for free expression as its defense. The court’s decision explained that “The First Amendment is designed to safeguard freedom of speech within the United States.” Judge Douglas Ginsburg further wrote in his opinion, “In this case, the Government acted solely with the intention to shield that freedom from a hostile foreign nation and to restrict that adversary’s capacity to collect data on U.S. citizens.
