Creating a film about the iconic TV show Saturday Night Live certainly presents unique difficulties. To begin with, viewers arrive at the movie theater with their own established ideas about the series. Furthermore, director Jason Reitman had to spend years searching for the perfect actors to portray comedy legends like Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, Garrett Morris, and others. As a longtime fan of Jim Carrey’s comedies, I am thrilled to hear that “Bruce Almighty” will soon be available for streaming on Netflix. This movie has been one of my favorites since it first came out and I have watched it countless times over the years. It’s always a guaranteed laugh and a great way to lift my spirits, especially during the holiday season when things can get a bit hectic.
I remember watching it for the first time with my family on a snowy winter night, and we all laughed until our sides hurt. The movie has a special place in my heart, and I am excited to be able to watch it again soon without having to dig through stacks of DVDs or wait for it to come on TV.
I’m also looking forward to being able to watch it while enjoying some leftovers from the holidays – nothing quite like a good movie and comfort food to make a cozy evening!
