At last, the long-awaited cross-play update for Palworld is on its way! This means players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series can soon join forces. The anticipation among fans has been high, as the concept of battling friends using Pokémon-like creatures has become increasingly intriguing. It’s exciting to see where this cross-play feature will lead, and it’s a positive development indeed.
As per the game’s official X channel, players on all platforms can engage in combat and team up for survival starting from late March. Although the developers have not provided an exact date for this feature, fans now have a rough idea of when it will be implemented. Cross-play is expected to boost engagement, potentially reigniting passion for this cherished survival game.
Enthusiastic gamers can now purchase Palworld at a 25% discount on PlayStation and Steam, in celebration of the cross-play update. This offer serves as an enticing incentive for those who haven’t had the chance to experience this game due to various reasons. However, given the impressive number of copies that this title has already sold, it appears that developer Pocketpair may not be overly concerned about attracting new players.
At one point, this Pokémon-like survival game was all anyone could talk about. After being let down by several Switch games, many players felt that this innovative take on the creature-catching genre represented the fresh direction they’d been eagerly anticipating. The concept resonated strongly with a large number of fans, and the game was selling like hotcakes at one point.
Part of the game’s luster faded when Pocketpair was sued by The Pokémon Company for imitating aspects of their franchise. As a result, some adjustments were made to the survival sim, with the developers eliminating objects resembling Pokéballs from the game. Despite this, the title continues to have a strong following, but it undeniably impacted its appeal among certain parts of the community.
Regardless, the long-awaited cross-play feature is now coming to Palworld. Looks like it’s time to fire some shots at our buddies and their companions!
