Bollywood actress Neena Gupta, set to appear in Panchayat Season 4, candidly shared her views on how most Indian women perceive intimacy. She pointed out that an overwhelming majority (99%) of women in India do not consider it as a means of personal satisfaction but rather view it as a responsibility to fulfill their partner’s desires and have children.

During a recent conversation with Lilly Singh, the actress from Aachaari Baa candidly discussed the authentic experiences of Indian women regarding intimacy. She expressed her feelings as follows: “I feel deeply sad for women and their relationships with intimacy in India, as I am referring to our country.

She elaborated, “I’m referring to approximately 99 or 95% of Indian women who are unaware that sexual activity is meant for pleasure. They believe it’s primarily to satisfy men and have children.

Neena pointed out that although a segment of society accepts a distinct viewpoint, most people don’t find it enjoyable yet.

The actress additionally pondered on the changes in her viewpoint regarding specific subjects throughout the years. Earlier, when she was applauded for boldly using the word ‘sex’, she confessed that she previously whispered it at home but no longer does so. She also described the term as being undervalued or excessive.

Instead of many actors who opt for the seclusion of a green room to fine-tune their microphones, Neena Gupta prefers to do it casually on the set itself. Speaking about this, she mentioned that in the early stages of her career, she would subtly turn aside to adjust her mic, but over time, she became less concerned about it.

Additionally, she commended the crew’s professional behavior, pointing out that they avoid staring at the actors because they are familiar with these kinds of practices.

Currently, professionally speaking, Neena Gupta recently appeared in Dil Dosti Aur Dogs and Aachaari Baa. Moving forward, she is set to appear in the fourth season of the widely recognized Amazon Prime Video series, Panchayat.
